A Gem in Santa Monica
We had a wonderful stay at Sonder The Beacon. The staff were super pleasant and helpful, no query was too difficult. The heated pool in the winter was an added bonus. Location was terrific, right on the beachfront and close to shopping, restaurants, cafes and grocery stores. All in all we were sad to leave and can't wait to return.

NEVER STAY HERE
This is not a hotel this is more like a run down skid row apartment complex with kids at the desk who cannot do anythiny. We had a room below a dance club that blared terrible music till 2 am. When I checked in they told me about the roof top bar but they assured me it was on the other side of the building (not true) then they said they could move us also not true. When I went up it was an empty dance floor with a terrible DJ and two bar tenders drinking with horrible music blaring to nobody. all a bit sad and tragic. I assume the economy will put them out if business but since the hotel does not tell you about the noice best to NEVER STAY HERE.

Would stay again
Great stay, app made it easy and someone replied all the time. View was amazing of Santa Monica beach! Great location close to bars and restaurants and the beach. Made the stay perfect. Felt safe even though I was a female alone. Only thing that sucked was I couldn’t get a late checkout and there was no showers and my flight was late in the evening but other than that would stay again!

Hotel close to the Santa Monica Pier
We spent a couple of nights here as part of a longer trip in California. The rooms were fantastic! Very clean. Comfortable beds. The view was amazing!! Very walkable and convenient. The staff was so friendly. We were pleasantly surprised to find a pool and hot tub. Target was a short walk to purchase swimsuits. We would definitely stay here again.

The stay was disappointing from the start. When we arrived after 8 hour drive from San a Francisco , there was no one at the reception and check in counter, we waited for about 15-29 minutes but nobody showed up so the place was completely empty . After that we decided to go to our room and opened it with the code which was texted to me . Next morning when went to the lobby again there was no one there at all and we returned after a busy day in the evening , same thing nobody at the reception and the hotel personal was nowhere to be found . We went to our room and found that it wasn’t t cleaned at all, garbage wasn’t taken out , the coffee and coffee cups aren’t replaced, bed isn’t made up and towels weren’t replaced . It was clear that no cleaning people entered the room and it was mess. I got really angrier with this complete lock of service called the tall free number and spoke with someone and expressed my deepest disgust and disappointment with this horrible service . He tried to explain something to me obviously just reason prepared and trained wording which made me even angrier. Eventually someone showed up and demanded some new towels and coffee cups which were eventually brought to our room after so much aggrevation and frustration. I told them that I want my money back for this terrible stay and that I file a complaint against the hotel and put a very bad review which is what I am doing now. Can I get my money back or at least reimbursement for paid parking?

Beliggenheten og utsikten er helt super! Det ble opplyst ved bestilling at noen rom var påvirket av støy fra nattklubben på taket, men at det var noise-cancelling maskin på rommet. Ikke en maskin i verden kan ta bort bråket, det var heftig. Vi bodde rett nok i etasjen under klubben, men var så fornøyd med utsikten at vi ikke ba om bytte. Det er et eldre, men sjarmerende bygg og vi hadde en leilighet med soverom, fullt utstyrt kjøkken og god seng. Balkongen vi bestilte viste seg å være felles med hele etasjen, dette det kunne det godt ha blitt opplyst om.

I had a decent suite. I did find a bunch of dirty towels behind the bedroom table. There was men’s hair in the bedsheets. The suite rooms were very sparse in furnishings. The tub had zero temperature control. It was boiling hot. The toilet paper was like sandpaper. The pool was full of dead bugs. The view was great. However, I didn’t realize that the balcony was shared with everyone. Random guests would walk right up to my bedroom window and stare at me and my daughter first thing in the morning. Imagine being awaken to having a strange man standing in front of your window. They also did that in the sofa room. There was zero privacy. Great access to shopping and great restaurants. The staff couldn’t really give a rat’s behind about your stay.
