On the 8th day, god created the Standard hotel.

Great price for a great room. We had to switch rooms when we arrived as the carpet was wet and room smelled of misled. Once resettled everything was great. Good view. Large room I’d you order a king bed. Newly remodeled bathroom.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at The Standard. They were able to accommodate an early check in, which was great so that I could freshen up before heading into my office. Soon after I got into my room, someone called to make sure all was good. The bed was super comfy & all of the linens were nice. The couple of times I had to call for something to be brought to my room, service was very prompt. I ordered room service one night, it was quick & delicious. I will say the delivery charge was high especially for just 1 person ordering 1 entree. I only have 2 real complaints - 1) they only have mini ironing boards which do not work well. there is definitely room for a full sized ironing board. 2) the carpet in my room was stained and, while it was probably clean, made me not want to walk around without shoes. Ending on a positive note, they have a flat rate car service to the airports which was super convenient and a great price.

As always, The Standard sets the standard. This hotel is spotless, staff is super friendly and helpful (shout out to Giovanni---he was great!), the bar is a really nice place to sit and watch NYC go by. We've stayed here many times over the years and are never disappointed.

The Standard East Village is my favorite hotel in the world. Literally. I have stayed there dozens of times and always receive the same level of service, comfort, courtesy, and cleanliness. I come to New York about once a month for business, and since my daughter and her husband live in the East Village, it's a convenient location for me. It's near Union Square with subways going all over the place, so I think it's a great location for others, too. The staff is almost too good to be true. I don't know where they find all those nice people. I haven't stayed anywhere else in New York in the past 3 or 4 years.
