PURA VIDA!

It was AMAZING! We had an ocean front first level room we could walk right out of and the beach, restaurant, pool everything was right there. The property was gorgeous! Staff was helpful and friendly but stayed out of your way. Room was basic, nothing special, but had the essentials. Bed was very hard. Unfortunately the beach wasn't private, it was public, and you had to rent beach loungers if you wanted to. Property is divided between the beach side and across street on mountain side. No adult only pool on main property at beach side and kids got kind of loud. Food was good. Property is smack in the middle of the town so walking distance to literally everything. We would DEFINITELY come stay here again!

BEST location in Tamarindo

Location, location, location! Diria is right in the middle of everything, and yet, set far enough off the beach to give privacy if you want it. We have stayed here before and will again. It's truly the best! Get a Sunset room and watch the magic every evening for the comfort of your terrace.

Would return in a heartbeat

We had a comfortable “pool view” room that actually faced the beach. The breakfast was great, the concierge very helpful and friendly, and the front desk staff was very welcoming. We thought the selections in the hotel’s main restaurant were a bit limited for dinner, but there are many restaurants in Tamarindo so this was not a big problem. The hotel is right on the best part of Tamarindo beach, and the swimming is excellent. The surfing area is very close also.

The location is the only thing they have going for them. The customer service at the bars and restaurants were less then acceptable. The rooms have no noise insulation, you can hear everyone and their conversations when they walk past your door no matter the hour of the day or night is. The maids did a good job cleaning everyday, that was nice.

Our stay was amazing! By far the best beachfront hotel in Tamarindo! Beautiful property, amazing and friendly staff, especially Charlie! Everything felt clean and safe. We were bummed the large pool was under construction but gave us a reason to return in the future!

Older resort, but nice people and great views

My husband and I traveled to Costa Rica for his birthday. Our stay was from November 28 to December 2. We were originally afraid to travel but masked up and sanitized and made it happen. Our stay in Tamarindo Diria Beach Resort was pleasant. We arrived on a Saturday and we were amazed at how many people were around. We went for breakfast on Sunday and the waiters and waitresses seemed overwhelmed and just couldn’t keep up with demand. They were short staffed and it took us almost 2 hours from the moment we walked in to get our breakfast. But everything was good. After Sunday, the hotel was practically empty. We enjoyed our time on the beach and enjoyed the area as it has decent restaurants. We reserved on of the beach front ocean view rooms. It was very nice to wake up to the sunrise. Because we were so close to the beach, small crabs, big roaches and small spiders would usually creep in under our door and always end up in our bathroom for some reason. My husband must have killed about 10 creatures in our 4 night stay. The hotel is in need of renovations, but given Covid, I don’t see them renovating any time soon. But the staff overall was friendly, food was decent and the beach was wonderful. I’d stay here again as I believe it’s the only resort in Tamarindo that’s right by the beach and we enjoyed waking up and having a 30 second commute to the beach.

Beautiful property & Staff but Avoid the owner

The property & staff was amazing absolutely beautiful. Only draw back is the German owner Condonsending rude even mean at times to his employees/ staff. He was always hovering watching every one and every thing every day. Very uncomfortable & kind of creepy

The property is beautiful. The room was very clean and the resort itself is immaculately maintained. David, the "bellhop" was extremely friendly and helpful. I went with no specific itinerary and he guided me as to where to go. Irene at the front desk is as pretty as she is friendly, patient and helpful. She always had answers to my questions and advice as to how to enjoy my stay:-) Unfortunately, while I was there, the area was suffering constant downpours of rain from the effects of a hurricane. The day I was leaving, another hurricane was making landfall in Equador and Honduras, the same area as the previous week. So, my stay was very soggy with very little sun. The staff always kept smiling and had a cheerful attitude! If you go to Costa Rica and stay at the resort, tell David and Irene I said Hi and thank you again for helping to provide great memories. Happiest Place in Happiest Country in the World

The Diria is one of the best places we have ever stayed in. People are friendly, food is great, the town is "right at your door". Nothing is "not doable" with anyone here. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE but don't all of you book here as we want to go back often
