Clean and New, but I still prefer more Perks

Originally, I was captivated by the modern look and the fact that it was renovated. It did seem small in pictures, but I was okay with that since I wasn't going to be in my room all day. When I walked in, for the price I expected the water to be free. I found it was $3 a bottle. I saw how furniture is minimal, I'm okay with that since I wasn't going to be there for long. I don't like that there's windows where anyone can see through if you're on the first floor. I would have wanted to stay at a more private setting. Good things: The location is okay. No ocean view possible. Theres a free wine hour. The breakfast is okay, cool how they give you a box in the morning. The rooms are very clean and smell great. The bottles of Goetz conditioner, shampoo, and body lotion, are all very good smelling. Cieling fan is a plus. Free bike rentals are handy to ride to the beach. Bad things: Very tight space for the price tag. The pillows are not comfortable. The table to eat is filled with amenities for purchase. The sitting couch is turned facing the bed and not the television. If you're looking for spaciousness and more amenities for the same price look for another hotel. If you're looking for a hotel with a view and more furniture look elsewhere. If you're looking for a modern hotel and you hate hotels with old look, something more minimal, this is for you. I personally like space and more perks for the same price.

Unfortunately not what it used to be. We've stayed here before and then the hotel was in much better shape and better furnished. Also, may seem like a small thing but the shower was terrible, very, very low flow and pressure and they use a water softener that makes you feel "slimy". to us a shower can make the difference between stay again or never again.

Relaxing getaway for a couple and our puppy

Our experience was perfect staying here during a pandemic. We were still able to socialize with others. Everyone was very friendly. Very clean and pet friendly too.

Nice, but should be cheaper....

The biggest problem with this hotel is parking. NONE! Parking on residential streets (even though the closests spot is 200 yards away) can be tricky in Carmel. The second thing is the windows were caulked shut and wouldn't open... Being a builder.... the egress here, which allows escape at 2 separate locations in case of fire, is not possible??? Fresh air, or the ability to take in the great ocean breeze can be achieved, but only if you leave your door open. No Air conditioning, only a ceiling fan which we had to leave on continuously. The hotel has been beautifully remodeled, so i can't understand why not do the last 10% and replace the windows? As in all previous reviews, yes both wall and floor framing is minimal, so you will hear those above you and next to you. Bring ear plugs. For the price point, other hotels have better basic amenities... Speaking of amenities, there IS a daily amenity FEE ? (which should be a part of the "taxes/recovery/service" charges that Hotels.com included with advertised pricing). When I see the phrase "your booking has been paid" after securing my reservation I've always believed there were no further charges? So when they ask for credit card for incidentals, I expected the pending charge/hold would automatically drop off from my card,and it did not. After calling the hotel I was informed of the amenity fee? I was hoping hotels.com could rectify that prior to booking so then just perfectly clear.

We loved everything about this place. The location is so close to many great restaurants. Easy drive down the old Mission. I loved our complimentary breakfast delivered to our room. The room is clean and comfortable. This is the street parking only but we have no problem finding parking spot near by. .

I have stayed with my wife for a weekend, and honestly, I am so happy we found this place—an excellent hotel with a perfect location located in the city center. The room was spotless & comfortable. Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed by the friendly reception staff; they make our trip more enjoyable with their recommendation & tips about the city, supermarket, shops, restaurants bars are within walking distance. Would definitely recommend this hotel to everybody! It's a true sample of excellent hospitality. The prices are excellent as well.
