Hotels.com never actually made me a reservation at the hotel. Even though I had a reservation on hotel.com’s platform, my reservation was actually never confirmed with the hotel. I was charged by hotels.com but didn’t actually have a reservation. I spent 2 hours with the hotel and on the phone with hotel.com trying to resolve this. All I was asking for was a refund but the customer service rep refused to do it. Finally after almost 2 hours he agreed to process the refund, but I have no confirmation this is actually happening. This was my worst hotel check in of my entire life. I hope I actually get refunded.

We appreciated the included breakfast and the friendly restaurant staff. The pool and beach seating areas are very crowded, we have been at many resorts and on many cruises but have never seen such an extreme case of "chair hogging". We went for a beach walk at 7 every morning and the front two rows were all reserved with towels, and of course they weren't actually occupied until hours later, if at all. Some folks even told us they got up in the dark to reserve them!! Hotel management doesn't care, it is mostly "owners" doing it so it won't be addressed. At resorts up and down the beach we did not see the same issue. We were told we would have a partial ocean view but we got a parking lot view. Nothing could be done as they claimed to be overbooked. After waiting to check in we noticed an extreme bleach smell, attributed it to cleaning (the floor was still wet) but later realized it was to mask the smell of mold. We couldn't use the A/C, the mold smell got so much worse. We only used the ceiling fan. All staff were friendly and helpful with the noticeable exception of front desk staff. The rooms in the tower facing the street open up to the seven story central atrium where sound carries up the open area. Very loud.

There were multiple issues. First, I chose this resort because it supposedly had six restaurants. Online it said they were all open every day, most for lunch and dinner. This was not accurate! 2 of the restaurants I never saw open in the 4 days I was there and only 1 was open for lunch and dinner. The room we were in was near the lobby, it was so loud every morning, we never slept past 7am. The beds and pillows were also very uncomfortable, and most of the front desk and concierge staff were not very friendly or accomodating. Also, we booked an excursion through the hotel. A boat trip. Come the evening before the weather showed rain all day. The concierge told me that if we woke up the following day and it was raining we could get a refund. It was. We were not given any refund. They lied about what time the "excursion agents"would be in that morning, we waited around for an hour and a half, as they continued to tell us different times, by which point we would have missed the boat anyway. When an agent finally did arrive she just argued with me, saying its not raining, i showed her the weather forecast for the day, and there were literally people walking outside with umbrellas!!! It was rediculous. Now i am having to fight the charge with my CC company. To top it all off, the private beach is not so private. We were bombarded by people trying to sell us stuff down there everytime we stepped foot on the sand. DO NOT stay here.

Before I even arrived they called me 4 x trying to upsell me on things I didn't need or want. When i arrived they got at it again trying to get me to go see their sister property the Flamingo that has time shares. Free tgis and that to try and entice me. I said no several times but they asked me right up until I checked out telling me they won't get commission if I didn't go. The grackles and pigeons at the restaurant buffet are ridiculous, getting into your belongings and food. This needs to be controlled better. The staff doesn't smile much at the restaurants. The rooms are ok, somewhat out dated but i heard they will be doing renovations in January. I've stayed at several resorts throughout Mexico and this one i probably wouldn't recommend. ⭐️⭐️
