Prior to moving to Puerto Vallarta over 10 years ago I owned 5 different timeshares which I no longer own. One was with this hotel where I had stayed several times years ago.
Recently we spent a few days to get away. The hotel, the rooms, and the staff were excellent. We wanted to have dinner at the El Patron restaurant, however, were told it was closed for a private function. So we opted for La Trattoria Italian restaurant.
For the most part, it is an open-air restaurant with most tables sheltered with umbrellas.
I ordered osso buco. When our food arrived my meal was cold. As a matter of fact, the fat had congealed. I sent it back. When returned it was nice and hot, however they did not give me a knife. By the time he returned with the knife my wife had finished her dinner. Then it started to rain and we were getting soaked. There were several vacant tables under umbrellas with "RESERVED FOR ELITE MEMBERS". I asked if we could move and was told NO THOSE ARE RESERVED. I said SCREW THIS and we moved anyway. A waiter approached us and said we could sit there for a moment. He took the reserved sign from the table next to us, put up an umbrella, and told us to move to that table. At that point, my food was cold again, and swimming in rainwater. I paid the bill and in the morning I complained to a concierge. He said he would speak with the food and beverage manager and get back to me. As of 6 pm, he still hadn't spoken with him. We checked out this morning and still nothing was do
