Not typical but Overall very nice.
There is no front desk or anything to check in when you get to the location and it is on the 4th floor of the building with a rather small elevator that was added after the building was constructed so it’s a little strange. But we arrived in the morning and when we called they allowed us to store our luggage in a nearby sister hotel. Got our room for us by noon as we were exhausted from the long trip. There is a common living room area shared by all guests which is nice actually as it gives you more room. The room itself is very nice with welcome gifts of chocolate and cookies. A lot of space in the room and overall it was very nice. The individual that checked us in was very accommodating and took time to show us everything and answer all of our questions. Customer service was very good and the room was very clean and roomy. Located right across from the Duomo and shopping and restaurants. Great location.

Amazing location, beautiful views, comfortable room. Though too sharp and not flexible on the checkin / checkout time and very cumbersome not to be able to store the luggage on site before checkin / after checkout.

Our room was directly facing the Duomo square. It was spacious and clean, had a walk in shower, water was always hot. in room small fridge, coffee service with tea kettle. Near several fantastic cafes. although there is a elevator on the 2nd floor landing to the 4th floor, you have to climb 10 tall steps from the street to get to it. It is a narrow elevator very old, maybe 2 person, but, unlike some modern elevators always worked. there is a gate keeper, lol, named Sally? or Sari, speaks no english, is fierce..I loved her. The listing on Expedia says laundry , there is no laundry. It also says breakfast, BUT, unless you upcharge there is no breakfast either. I would have paid a upcharge if given the opportunity.
