The downstairs service staff was very good and the hotel was beautiful, but 'creature comforts' were definitely lacking. There were NO plates, cups, towels, utensils, or paper towels in the kitchen but plenty of empty cupboard space! There were stove top burners and a microwave but NOTHING to use to eat anything you might want to heat up. Thankfully there were two coffee cups with the coffee maker. When we requested ice a full ice bucket was brought in but it didn't fit in the freezer, and of course there were no cups to put ice and beverages in anyway. What exactly is the purpose of the kitchen?
The mattress in the sofa sleeper needs to be burned - it's just springs covered in thin fabric. It was impossible to have a good nights sleep on that mattress. We were able to pull the chaise lounge cushions in from the balcony every night to put on top of the sleeper sofa, and then have to drag them out again to the loungers the next morning.
It's unfortunate because the beach, pools and general property are very good, but the room itself was a big disappointment. Dog-friendly was a big plus!!
