This hotel is in the middle of a remodel (May 2022). The older rooms are uninhabitable - moldy, dusty, smelly, grim. And they are still very, very expensive. I was able to upgrade to a new room (which was fine except for paper thin walls), for an additional $50/night - making this one of the most expensive places to stay in La Jolla, especially when you factor in the additional $25 for parking. The location is great. It'll probably be fine once the remodel is complete but its looking pretty rough now. The staff were nice (and apologetic) but they were not able to provide me with a receipt for the upgrade and parking. I'm a business traveler so, yeah, I need that. It wasn't the worst but I won't stay here again.
