Outstanding
You should stay here. This intimate boutique hotel, and the grounds, are beautifully designed and extraordinarily comfortable. Only seven rooms. And a beautiful pool. But what really sets it apart is the staff. They are thoughtful, friendly, professional, accommodating, and just fun to be around. Cesar and Umberto are THE BEST! And if you want a guide to show you around Merida and the surrounding area, ask for Walter. Walter showed us Merida and then took us to lunch at a quaint roadside restaurant in Muna, Mexico, before we visted Uxmal -- the nearby Mayan city ruins. Here's an example of how thoughtful the staff is at Hotel Antelar -- While we were there a truck that was too high took out all the power lines on the street and the hotel lost power. They immediately found us a room for the night at the Hotel Define, which is also very beautiful, but a little too formal for us. We'll go back to Hotel Antelar.
