has management changed? we've stayed here often, as recently as last year, and the service was always friendly and hospitable, and the rooms and grounds perfectly serviceable for the price, given the area. however this year it was very different. dramatically higher prices than ever before, yet every aspect of the atlantic was worse. we were accosted by an aggressive manager upon arriving early (apparently it was insane to think we could use their bathroom to change and then enjoy the pool while we waited for our room...which ended up happening to be ready for us anyhow); our room that accommodated and was reserved for 3 people only had towels for 2; dirty towels were strewn around the pool and no clean ones were available for use; the towels themselves were over-used, sandpaper rough budget bath towels; breakfast was advertised as an amenity but none existed; neither of the two ice makers worked; housekeeping was not provided - only a knock on the door to replace soaps and towels; the pool area was locked during hours in which it was posted it should be open.
this used to be a delightful, good value stay on the south fork, but we'll never return after this past weekend's experience. sorry to see it have gone so downhill.
