Having heard great things about the hotel and regularly visiting Madeline's bar when we had the chance to stop for a friend's wedding weekend we took it.
The building is amazing and you can see the effort that has come into the rebuild.
However, for somewhere that isn't old, the furniture in the bedroom is chipped, the bathroom grout is starting to yellow, and the room we had 444 just felt soulless.
We had breakfast as part of our stay and we had to go out after to get more food as the portions are small, lacking a carbohydrate on the full English also no black pudding with no extra bacon or egg to replace, the food was just about warm.
The positive was the quality of the sausage the rest didn't feel like much effort had home into it.
For the price, I would have expected better, a shame really.
