Our room was spacious for a classic double although it was very dark mainly due to the decor and small window. The bathroom was black and dark blue, which meant it showed every mark and blemish and appeared dirty when it probably was not! Air con, mini fridge, daily bottled water and biscuits were a plus.
The hotel car park is very tight and small and we struggled to get a parking space on arrival. The Ringo app for the public parking wanted us to renew the 24 hours of parking at 08:23am each next day, despite booking this at 14:30pm on arrival. Not 24 hours of parking and a very inconvenient thing to do each day at breakfast time. Surely the hotel can come to some arrangement with the City Council, so that you can check-in and register your car registration for parking at hotel reception, like most other hotels do with a similar set up. Then car parking is not something you have to remember to do each day but just pay for the number of days parking needed via the hotel.
The other issue we had is that our room key was deactivated each day at 11am and we had to keep going down to reception to get it activated again, after returning from our day out. Good job we are fit enough to keep going up and down the stairs.
Apart from these minor niggles, we did enjoy our 3 night stay but not sure I would return to this hotel again.
