The worst experience we've ever had, after traveling more than 15 countries and 30 cities.
They show rude and arrogant. Where we come from has zero tolerate policy to left cigarette bottoms on the ground, rare to find the trash cans outside, the culture different is we bring it home, that’s why we carry ashtray with us, after get home to clean it out. End of day we saw the note in the room. We thought it’s just a normal notice, especially the smoking balcony just by our window, after we know Amsterdam is a smoker friendly city, were not throwing away the cigarette bottoms back in the room. All explained to the front desk, they threated having pictures of cigarette bottoms in the trash can, said the smelling cause the same problem which the cleaning lady have to deal with. Checking guest’s trash to find if any smelly compare to smoking in the room? The manager insisted and thought it was nice to charge us half of the fine by law, we not only feel insulted but resist.
The cleaning doesn’t even proper. The light was burnt out, the tissue box left 5 sheets, super small room for two tall people, no space for two big luggage, not able washing face at the sink. The noise from everywhere all day long, the bar, the kitchen, the front desk, and people smoke on the balcony by our window. We left power plug adapter on the socket, only a few hours latter, they couldn’t found. Finally we ask for the different room, we got a normal room. Only reason we stayed was prepay it.
