We were disappointed with this hotel. We had high hopes because of the 8.0+ score when we booked it. We book a lot through this site, and usually an 8.0+ is good (can't remember a time it wasn't good).
What we liked:
- the woman at the front desk was very friendly, even took time to find us a bottle opener for our wine
- the location was surrounded by food and a Walmart for supplies
- we like hardwood floors in hotel rooms
What we really didn't like:
- the floors in the room were soooo dirty, just a few steps and my feet were pitch black with dirt (like a construction crew stayed the night before and it wasn't cleaned)
- I can't explain why, but the room was always damp-- our towels would never dry, our sheets always felt slightly wet
- not that we were gonna use the pool, but the pool is really disgusting... it's emptied out and full of trash + trash water
- we found some bugs in our room, little beetles, arguably a baby roach
- you can't put a hold on an infant crib-- part of the reason we booked the hotel was that they had a pack n play for our kid, and when we got there, it was already in-use (I partially blame ourselves for rolling the dice)
Maybe we got a bad room. I don't know. We weren't expecting a fancy hotel by any means, but we were expecting a clean room at the very least.
I really don't like leaving these kind of reviews, but I felt like the current score isn't reflective of this hotel and it needs to be taken down a notch.
