Let me preface by saying that the people who work at this hotel really saved this review. The front desk workers were excellent, the young man in the garage was excellent, the maids were excellent, once we left a tip. Our check-in, however, was really bad. When we got to our room, we noticed right away that the pictures posted on Hotels.com were not anything like this room. And not just by a little bit. The carpeting had white particles, hair pins, dirt and stains on it, and the white coverlet on the bed had what looked like blood on it. The bathtub had hair in it and there were rings of old shampoo on the side of the tub. I requested a new cover for the bed, which was delivered promptly and handed to me at the door. When I showed the person at the desk the photos of what we had been expecting on the website, she remarked that those were photos of the cottages, wherever those were. They were certainly not photos of a deluxe king room. The desk person said she would make a note of it to tell her manager. Because we stayed here midweek off-season, the noise in the garage below us and just outside our shutters (which didn't close completely) was tolerable. Still really loud when someone decided to rev an engine or play loud music. We always tip the maids, and this time was no different. When we returned to the room, the floor had been swept and the room looked considerably cleaner than when we had left it.
