Not impressed at all...for the price you pay. Extremely tiny rooms...by tiny I mean no where to sit and the beds are in a loft that barely has head room. The listings for the room said it included things it did not have. We were moved to a differnt room that did have a tv and king size bed but there were no black out curtains, only had hot water once during the stay, twice at night (late), what appeared to be staff walked into our room without wearing masks. While we were gone for the day, staff was painting the door of our room with it open and the fumes were bad. The smell of mold is strong in the room also. There are so many places to stay in bacalar, I wouldn’t waste my money here again. It is a cute eco hotel but that’s about it.

The hotel is beautiful, and they seem committed to protecting the environment. The pool is amazing, although it was cold for me to use. The bar is nice, and it was convenient to have an option like the hotel bar, as there is not much in the town. I did not like the rooms: they are too small and have awful steps to get to a loft bed, that are uncomfortable and seem dangerous if you usually wake up at 4 am to use the restroom. I think they could use some couches or space to chill considering that you can't spend time in your room. Existing couches are monopolized by the people who offer massages: there is one (in total) lounge chair, a couple of wooden hammocks, etc, but nothing comfortable enough to lay down for a couple of hours to read, chat, use a laptop, etc. The breakfast was a highlight, however, it is clear that some of the staff is new or don't have: they charged me 70 MXN for two fried eggs I added to my breakfast (when the menu said it cost 30), and when I arrived one night the dudes there started making faces to each other, and one of them finally approached me to ask us if we had paid our drinks from the night before and how ("for their book"). I thought this was weird. Anyway, is a very nice hotel, but I think they need to re-think the rooms: they are too small for a small pueblo in which there is not much to do on a rainy day.

Excellent place. The food is fantastic. The pools are amazing with a high level pool and a pit you can jump in. The ecologic concept making a fusion with nature and minimalist makes a confortable stay. The hanging beds are relaxing. Also has additional activities to joe you entertained. Very recommendable m.

Great new property that opened just prior to COVID, amazing property that lets you jump from the secondary story straight to the pool on the first floor. Beds are loft style and be sure to contact ahead of time for late check in.

Pros: Interesting concept to reduce their carbon footprint, great location by the lagoon, walking distance to be Fort and restaurants; great breakfast that is included. Cons: rooms are really tiny so for those that like to spend time in your room, this isn’t a great choice. It’s literally a bed and a place to put your bag. Staff wasn’t too friendly and it could get awkward as you have to be out of your room given how small it is.

Increíble area de alberca con un diseño no esperado. Siempre puedes encontrar nuevas áreas para hangear. Alberca con área relax y colchones colgantes en el segundo piso, alberca abajo con cascada, bar, área de sicialisar, etc. Muy bonito todo. El desayuno un sorpresa. Super rico y completo. Felicidades. Las cuartos son muy pequeños y por esto no son para quedarse adentro mucho tiempo. Lamentablemente las almuhadas estaban muy sucias, olieron horrible a algún quemico. Pero aparte de esto, todo súper.

Nuestra estancia estuvo increíble, el hotel esta super bonito, ademas de buen diseño es eco friendly, te dan un tour y la explicacion del concepto.. Al reservar me preocupo un poco el tamaño del cuarto pero es perfectamente funcional, la cama super cómoda y el diseño muy original.. Todo queda cerca caminando. Excelente opcion en Bacalar.🌟

What a pleasant surprise!! We made an unplanned visit this week, so glad! The staff is great! The rooms are small (really small), a nice bathroom and a loft bed BUT the common "living" areas both upstairs and downstairs are VERY nice, couches, tables, hammocks, etc. The bar is well stocked and great value, the resturant was not open for dinner, but the included breakfasts were excellent (large menu!). The pools are beautiful and while I did not go swimming, many other seemed to enjoy. Within walking distance there is a cool fort and lake front to visit and a couple great restaurants. We will revisit next time we go to the Yucatan for sure...

Awesome modern hotel for a short trip to Bacalar. Great location and cool design. Music a little loud (especially at night) but great experience

This is a beautiful hotel, but has much more potential. When we walked into the hotel, there's no one sitting at the front. Walked around and found someone at the bar to check us in. Staff were all very nice. The room is pretty neat and I like that it requires a code to get in your room. Room is just as described. Only negative thing about the room is at night and morning, I can smell sewage in the room. I couldn't figure out where the smell is coming from? I didn't want to complain or get switched to another room since another guest I spoke to complained their ac wasn't working. The pool was nice to swim in. I think they could use a pool person to scoop up the dead bugs and leaves in the pool daily. If you book a paddle board tour in the morning 6:30am, they failed to tell us the entire place is totally dark and there was a trick to get out to the front of the hotel.We searched everywhere on how to get thru the front door, we ended up finding an escape route thru the back of the hotel thru a gate and ran all the way to the front. 10 minutes later another couple who had the same excursion came out thru the front and we were shocked. We had no idea the door slides! That info would've been helpful! It was an adventure anyway!
