Our room on check-in from the moment we walked in was dirty and unacceptable. The carpets were filthy, with many stains. The bathroom ceiling had bits of mold on it and the vent had a thick build up of dust all over it. This was not the experience we were expecting from a room at Embassy Suites in East Memphis, and not an environment we want our 7 year old daughter in, considering there is mold in the room. We were moved to another room. This new room was better overall, but the vent also had a thick build up of sticky dust on it. Maintenance came to clean it off and it was very filthy and disgusting. He cleaned it but left a big glob of it in our sink we noticed after he left (see picture) and some bits on the ground. Considering 212 and 308 had this awful dust, we can only imagine many or all the rooms were like this. Also, the sink in room 308 had a long crack in it and the paint above the sink was chipped. Not the condition you would expect from a room at Embassy Suites. There was no bar soap in the new room or shower gel and we had to down to lobby to get it ourselves each time. We could hear full conversations in adjoining room as the sound proofing on the door was non-existent. And we were disgusted by the fact that the garbage can on the 3rd floor by the laundry machine was not emptied in the 4 days we were there at the hotel. Terrible stay. Unclean hotel and bad service. Not what anyone should expect from Embassy Suites.
