When I first arrived at the hotel, I didn’t have a reservation. My app glitched the night before while attempting. The front desk clerk told me there were no rooms available but I should check at other hotels around for availability. I was shocked but went back to my car, opened my Hotels.com app to see if it would work & much to my surprise there were MANY rooms available for the night. I booked one, went back to the desk, told the attendant who responded, “there must’ve been a cancellation.” Before I came back in, I had also checked my Hilton hotels app & website—there were plenty of rooms available on both. I was livid but after a long day of driving, decided to go to bed & handle it with a manager the next morning. I didn’t want to think it was a discrimination until I had to come back down to get a new room that didn’t smell like smoke & saw a black man walking out of the hotel looking perplexed. I stopped him & asked if he was checking in, he told me he was trying to but there was nothing available. I opened my phone & showed him there were plenty of rooms available online. It was then I realized that after 20 mins of being in Mississippi, I was being discriminated against. I stood aside to listen in the lobby & witnessed her giving a Caucasian lady a room who was a walk in. Once I had the reservation she couldn’t turn me away but she wouldn’t give black people reservations. I stayed because it is my right to be here, I encourage other black people to do the same.

I love staying at hilton properties. I always have a pleasant stay. The problem i had was check in was for 3p. I arrived a little after 5 and they told me to wait because my room was almost ready. My room was already paid in full. I was very irritated and stated my concerns. After being very aggravated the other lady suggested to give me another room which was indeed more convenient. If i didnt say anything I would've been waiting for a room.

If Bates Motel existed now, this would be it! Completely and utterly NASTY! We checked in late and thank God I had Lysol and wipes because it was DISGUSTING. Bugs, bugs, and more bugs. My son grabbed a Kleenex and mosquitos came from EVERYWHERE. Sheets were nasty so we slept on the towels. The shower was dirty. Smells. I question some of these nice reviews.

The overall stay was very good! The staff was professional and friendly. The room was clean which is a big plus during COVID-19.
