Clean, comfortable, no room service, no cleaning service either, weekend stay- that was a disappointment-for the cost! stay was May 21-23

This is a very lovely place to stay. Breakfast offerings aren’t the best if u want to buy it there, but the staff is responsive and lovely. They try hard to anticipate ur needs and are accommodating when requests are made. I enjoyed my stay here. (Twice).

I booked a room with courtyard access and arrived at noon hoping for an early check-in. They told me to try again at 2. I tried again, they told me that the courtyard access rooms weren’t ready but check-in was at 3 per their policy, try again at 3. I tried again at 3 and they told me to come back at 4:30 even though their check in is at 3pm. I tried 4:30 and guess what rooms weren’t available? I ended up getting a standard room (although I paid for a courtyard room) but they comped their continental breakfast (the bagel and muffin every other hotel gives for free... yay) Checking out they double charged me for a bottle of wine I bought and put on my room, which was supposed to be taken from the incidental charges. The entire stay they kept apologizing for one failure or another. Long and short, the hotel was nice but the employees are ignorant to their own policies and they make no effort to ensure guests are able to check in at their stated check-in time.

This was fine for our purposes but there were some COVID and non-COVID related issues that made it less than ideal. COVID, of course, cannot be helped but it was frustrating not to have a coffee maker or microwave in the room. The refrigerator was still there, so that begs the question of why a coffee maker or microwave pose any greater or less risk in terms of cleanliness or safety than a fridge? Also there were no cups or glasses, not even wrapped/sealed ones, or menus for the restaurant, a pend or pad. All of these things could be prepackaged and handed to guests when they check in. The non-COVID issues were that someone on our floor was smoking pot for the first day and a half and the hallway REEKED of a smell as a result. Considering smoking if any kind UD not legal in hotels, I feel the staff should have done more to identify which room it was coming from and ejected whoever was doing it. It does no good to the other guests to simply have them fined later. Finally, the water in our sink only dribbled, whether on hot ir cold. We didn’t ask anyone to come repair it since we didn’t want anyone in our room unnecessarily. It seems like a very nice hotel and we hope to stay again when the culinary garden is in use and hope that none of the above will be issues when we do.
