This was probably the worst "5 Star" experiences I have ever had.
The moment we landed, we got sent to the seaplane, which got cancelled 2 hours later - we were told it was weather. Given that other seaplanes were taking off consistently, I doubt this is true. We then had to sort our own room out in Male and go the next day - ultimately losing us one nights stay, which was the most expensive night I paid for. The hotel said it was not their responsibility - then again, it is not mine either. We got compensated $230 for the extra night I paid for in Male - that after arguing.
Service on the whole is absolutely shocking here. In the Todis bar, no one even asks you if you want a drink, even though they have so many staff - you have to go to the bar yourself to get a drink. "Managers" just seem to sit on tables doing nothing. We ordered room service and the food came 90 minutes later, stone cold. Sent it back. Food in the buffet restaurant is underwhelming and desserts are always warm and melted, when they should be cold.
They knew the seaplane back to Male was at 10.30am, they moved us out of our villa at 9am and sat us in reception for over an hour. The "manager" upon checkout just argued with us and wasn't hospitable at all. To be honest, I don't know what their problem is, but overall, it is was awful and I would say just go to a proper 5 star resort. They really need to sort their service standard out. Would never go again, not recommend, stay away.
