The room was dated and had scuff marks on the doors and furniture and the carpet had seen better days BUT it was clean, tidy and had everything we needed. It is going through refurbishment at the moment and to be honest I expected a bit of a mess and noise but it was quiet. My partner used the leisure area and was happy with it.

Staff were great. The room was a deluxe with king bed which was so comfy! The furniture was slightly worn but the bathroom was spotless. I really wasn’t happy with the breakfast. £24 for two people, a cheap half cooked breakfast and limited continental, wasn’t worth the price.

Lovely character hotel and stay

The hotel itself was lovely but a little tired decor wise. The bedroom was well enough equipped and the bed was actually really comfy. The staff were friendly and accomodating, and the food was lovely. The leisure club adjoined to the hotel was a nice extra, and the jacuzzi and sauna were lovely and well worth the 5 or 7 pound entry (dependant on weekday or weekend) Would happily stay again as overall it was value for money and situated within easy reach of local transport routes.
