A little frayed around the edges, the St. James offers clean, comfortable (the a/c on a hot, humid weekend was fantastic) incredibly quiet rooms only a block or two away from Times Square. The location was utterly fantastic, and the staff--from front desk to maid--was superb. Did I already mention how incredible the location was?! The place may be showing its age a little bit, but it definitely has character.

The front desk staff was great. It was easy to store my bags and the room was mostly clean. There was a long black hair in the tub, and we lost water one day. But, overall it was clean and I felt safe as a lone female. The location was everything! So great for Braodway shows and just a few blocks from the subway, Bryant Park, and Radio City. The location was the best part of the stay!

The hotel is a little older, but very clean, and the staff were great. It is not a luxury hotel by any means, but was better than a lot of options out there. The room was very spacious by NY standards. The first night I had a problem with my shower, and they fixed it immediately. It was nice to have a microwave and small refrigerator in the room. I would not hesitate to stay here again.

Everything was great. We were welcomed by the staff and when we got to the room. We were pleased. Everything was clean and well maintained. It was small but you expect that in New York City. The property was close to all the theaters and Times Square. Rockefeller Center was just up the street. Since my wife is not a big walker, that was so convenient. I'd easily choose to stay here again.

This was a great hotel. The location was close to everything. The staff was so helpful, the room was spacious and quiet. The property was well maintained…,clean, beautiful lobby, never had to wait long for the two elevators. They were so good about storing our bags compared to other hotels we’ve stayed in the theatre district. Highly recommend this place. You won’t be disappointed.
