"Conveniently located in the city centre along the River Lee; however, at the end of July 2025, there was a great deal of construction occurring in front and around the hotel. Gave an overall rating of a 2 because of the 7:30 AM fire alarm experience. "

"We enjoyed the comfortable bed and pillows and not having to step into a bath to have a shower. The enclosed shower was great. Space was tight around the bed and I did bang my leg on the sharp corner of the bed passing from the window side to the bathroom at night. Breakfast was simple but adequate. We enjoyed the entertainers in the lounge. Overall cmfortable and very handy for going to the town centre."

"The Metropole has undergone an impressive restoration and was a wonderful place to stay. We had to navigate the construction on MacCurtain St, but beyond that had easy access to Patrick Street and the shopping districts of Cork. The staff were lovely and the accommodations very comfortable."
