Castello Boutique Resort & Spa - 克里特島

Very attentive staff and a beautiful hotel. The only two things that could make it better would be more parking for guests and a king bed in the superior rooms (we had two twins pushed together... Slightly awkward).

Sissi itself is run down and scruffy. There is a huge problem with feral cats, many are maimed and disfigured. This is quite distressing, particularly as you are bothered by them wherever you go. The little port is quite pretty but is let down by some fairly poor restaurants. The Castello Spa Hotel itself has a stunning reception area and our room […] was comfortable and nicely decorated. We had a room with a pool and I would advise against making this choice after September. We could only use the pool from 9 til mid-day as it was in shade after this time and quite cold. Perhaps the hotel could point this out to their guests and prevent any waste of money. Our bathroom had not been properly serviced prior to our arrival and the cleaning time on a daily basis was somewhat sporadic throughout our stay. Most of the staff were friendly but not all were that confident to help e.g. there was a power cut and our room was in pitch black, we had to go and buy some candles from the supermarket next door (no power cut here) - nobody was that interested at the hotel. Breakfast was a bit of problem in that we had to keep asking for food, some of the staff took a bit if an attitude with this which surprised us because we were polite and friendly in our requests. Ultimately we spoke to the hotel manager and generally things improved in this regard. We also received a spa voucher for our trouble which was a kind gesture. The gym is adequate but not clean and the equipment noisy, perhaps needing some maintenance - it's all a bit grimy and we didn't witness any supervision or inspection whilst there. All in all, the hotel is comfortable and very nice looking in parts but it would need to be better managed to be attributed a five star rating. 詳情

We thoroughly enjoyed a very relaxing 4 nights at this modern hotel. The room was big and clean, the staff very helpful and pleasant especially the bar staff who were good fun and made great cocktails and the pool and spa treatments were very good. This is a new, nearly 5* hotel with good service, great rooms (some with their own private plunge pools), comfortable pool area with loungers on the grass or on the tiles area; put it in any European hotspot and you'd pay a fortune. The problem is the location! Sissi is essentially a satellite of Malia, one of the worst examples of pandering to low-level […] (mostly British) tourists in the Med. Sissi is equally soulless, it is not a quaint Cretan village (go west or south if you want that) but a tourist village with ranks of very average restaurants along the front (every one of which has photos on the menu to help people choose what to eat ~ snobby, I know, but anywhere with photos on the menu usually gets a wide berth; in Sissi, you have no option!). The few shops in town are very average. There is a town beach and a larger beach about 500 metres from the hotel. So, three days in the hotel, staying by the pool, having a couple of spa treatments, cocooned from the outside world, it's very nice. If you want luxury and to see Crete, I don't recommend it. 詳情
