The owners are really great.....perfectly willing to answer any questions and provide help to make sure you enjoy your stay in the area and that you'll come back and stay with them again! We had a great time staying at this hotel. The rooms are SO cute! Each room is decorated differently and the owners have really put their own personal touches in every corner of the room. If you want a nice, CLEAN, comfortable (and affordable) hotel room, this is the place to stay!!

I've been on a few business trips to tahoe, so I have been experimenting with different hotels. Alder Inn is one of the best, if not the best. Chad was great at making me feel at home. Would stay there again on my personal trip.

There's no better place to stay. The hotel is in a great location. The rooms are nice. The hot tub is awesome. But, most of all, the innkeepers are the best. They clearly love what they do. They're knowledgeable and give great advice. At the same time, they're not overbearing. We'll definitely stay here again the next time we go to Tahoe.

Don't let the "older inn " look deter you , this place is very nice, very clean and updated. All the rooms have been tastefully renovated and decorated by the owners and really make the place stand out. The owners are also very friendly and helpful like real innkeepers should be and serve you a good breakfast.

This is my second visit to this location. My friend and I try to get away each year for a girls weekend. We are welcomed at the desk with a smile and very friendly owners. The weekend breakfasts are great and the rooms are beautiful. We took advantage of the complimentary bike rentals and had a great time. We will be back next year!

What a charming hotel! Chad and Leyni have done such a wonderful job adding their own special touches to this sweet little place. Chad was a great help at suggesting places to dine and sightsee. The Alder Inn met our expectations though it was pricey over Labor Day weekend. The couple who owns the hotel does all the maintenance. We weren't able to check in a couple of hours early, and the walls were noticeably thin. Otherwise, everything else worked out fine. Pool was good, weekend breakfast was good, and room was very clean. Would be happy staying here again.

We enjoyed our stay at the Alder Inn. The young couple who runs the place are so sweet and friendly and hard workers. Up early and to bed late constantly fixing up the units to look great. They both have very stylish taste and the rooms are fun to be in. Give them a try. I think you will be pleased.

Clean, cute, quiet and a nice location. Convenient to the lake, to Heavenly, to the store, to (what's left of) the strip. Proprietors were great and the complimentary bikes were the way to go. Very nice!

My husband and I enjoyed lazing by the pool. on the giant cabana beds and going for a bike ride on the free beach cruisers. Hotel was quaint and comfortable enough. Our room was unfortunately adjacent to the stairway which meant that we were awakened by footsteps as people walked up them in the middle of the night. Plumbing was also quite loud.

This hotel was an older property but recently updated. The rooms each had a cute and quirky theme. The couple running the hotel couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. We will definitely stay there again if we return to Tahoe.

We chose the Alder Inn because of it's "mom & pop" appeal. The room was clean and the location was perfect. We were able to walk to several of the tourist attractions, even with our small kids. The Alder Inn was such a quaint comfortable Inn! The owner's made us feel welcomed from the second we walked through the door. For something advertised as a 2 star hotel this property was far from all of the other "motels" flooding the South Lake Tahoe area. The property has been recently renovated and the room is a quaint size but has all the necessary amenities to be comfortable away from home.
