You can't go wrong with this resort! It's beautiful and so well maintained. The staff is wonderful and so friendly and will do almost anything to make your stay enjoyable. The grounds, beach and hotel are beautiful. For the most part the staff was very friendly and courteous especially the staff at poolside buffet and the activities staff. Here is the "scam" of this resort. The poolside lunch buffet was good and we did enjoy it, the other buffet though was TERRIBLE! The sole purpose of the concierge/butler appeared to be to steer you to this buffet. We booked our reservations for the restaurants on site right when we arrived. We got one reservation at 6:30 the others we were told the only thing they had was 9/10 pm and there were no reservations for one of them. On the third night we couldn't stand the thought of eating at the buffet, we called to get a reservation at the Italian. We were told not only was it booked, but overbooked! When we had to "pitch a fit" they called back to our room and stated if we went right then we could eat. We arrived, practically sneered at by the hostess and main server and sat in a half empty restaurant for an hour. It never got more than half full, so much for overbooked. The "Star Friends" are friendly and always making sure you having a good time, but not to the point of annoyance. We enjoyed conversing with Ayendi (Boom Boom), Romel (Happy Feet), Maria, and Tomas (beach and boat bar), and Elias on a daily basis. Check in and check out was smooth. The spa is great and from what we could see, way underutilized. We had a couples swedish massage which was as good, if not better than any we have had in the U.S., and for less money. The shows which we attended were very entertaining. Don't expect cirque du soleil or broadway, but these performers give it their all every night. By the end of the trip, we didn't want to leave, which is a first for us. Typically after a week or so, my wife and I miss our home and our pets and are ready to leave, but not this time. The staff did their best to meet all of our needs. You are able to request a time when the maids clean your room and turn down service at night. The butlers fix all your reservations for you and there is pleny of chairs and covered lounge beds to sun around the pool. A great getaway from the hustle and bustle of daily life

My wife and I have traveled extensively throughout the Caribbean and the Iberostar Grand Bavaro ranks near or at the top of them all. Especially for an all-inclusive we felt they do an exceptional job. They select their staff for courtesy, helpfulness and a desire to make your stay there a completely wonderful time. English is spoken by all, even the […] maids had a very passable command, far exceeding my limited Spanish. They helped me to increase my vocabulary in espanol and were never anything but helpful regardless of my butchering of their native tongue. Given that it was my wife's birthday during our stay they delivered a beautiful tropical bouquet to the room along with a birthday cake and champagne, compliments of the hotel. Our dinner that night was also accompanied by a vase of roses and yet another smaller chocolate cake on the house. Regarding food- exceedingly well done. The smaller themed restaurants presented superb dining. I cannot pick a favorite since all were different and all were excellent. If there is any small complaint it is that one must book the reservations ahead of time-basically as soon as you get checked in- as the seatings are small and you must be flexible in your dining times. Breakfasts were standard fare but well done and a myriad of choice. Lunches may be the stand out thing for me in that i am addicted to Caribbean lobster and feasted on grilled Langosto DAILY accompanied by steamed shrimp and steamed mussels. This was our first time at an Iberostar. Very pleased overall with a few Caveats. Great food and good service which is the basis for a good trip. I mean the food was really, really good and most likely the best "inclusive" food we have ever had. First room offered was supposed to be Ocean View but it was not. Second one was although we had to wait almost […] 2 hours. The resort that gets this process down right someday will earn a premium. If you like quiet, this place is very quiet, day or night. We went with 4 other couples and a group can get little roudy sometimes which might earn you some intervention from the staff but still enough latitude to have fun. Golf at the attached course was great! Only major brush for me was that the bar drinks were off. Took us a while to figure it out but we finally got it. Drinks that contained juice were off as the juices were dispensed from a bar gun. None of them were right and had a sterile taste. Don't know if it was cleaning compound or the quality of the juice. Big bummer when you go to the islands and your Yellow Bird has clipped wings. With everything else being so good (did I mention the food!!!!) how much more would it take to have good juice at the bar! Also don't understand why the hot tub water level was so low or the bubbles shut off at 5:30 but we adapted. FYI - watch the transfer bus. We had a computer stolen from a large bag while stored under the bus at the airport awaiting other riders. Not the a resort issue, just an FYI. 詳情

If there was a heaven, this is what the place would look like. Everything here is absolute perfection, from the landscaping to the pool, to the employees who are there to help whenever needed. The food is spectacular. We could have eaten in the buffet every day for every meal and been completely happy, let alone the "fancy" restaurants. I didn't partake […] in golf, but hit the tennis courts with resident pro Jose and had a real blast. A few items of improvement: 1. I find it hard to fathom that you can't get WiFi outside your room or the front lobby, but it's true. Yes, it's nice to unplug if you can, but some of us don't have that option or we can't truly relax if we know we're out of contact with family or work. When walking in front of the next door RIU resort, we noticed they managed to get their WiFi clear down to the beach, so it's definitely doable. 2. Smoking in the buffet. Really? I know this isn't the United States, but even most European countries are starting to ban smoking anywhere indoors. At least the fancy restaurants did not allow smoking. 3. The resort really needs to limit pool towels to the number of guests in a room. We'd see people reserve not only a pool cabana, but 4 chairs out along the pool so they could tan. It was ridiculous. We just came back from a 5 night stay with our adult children. Do not understand all the complaints about dinner reservations and the butlers. All was fabulous. We did a 1/2 day ray/snorkeling trip with Blue which was great, and my husband and boys loved the golf. The staff could not have been more accommodating. My daughter has severe food allergies […] and we don't really speak Spanish (which would have helped - most of the staff only have rudimentary English) and the entire kitchen worked to make sure my daughter was happy. Went for honeymoon 12.3- 12.10.12. Overall an incredible facility. However, swim up bar 9/10, beach chair options 9/10, spa was 7/10, the food was 6/10, the room service was a 5/10, the beer options were 4/10, the liquor options were 4/10, the scenery was a 9/10, the facility was a 9/10 so overall I'd give it a 8.4/10, the food being the biggest let […] down. No good seafood. But the lunch buffets were pretty solid. The junior ocean suite was nice, the swim up bar, jacuzzi, pool was all exceptional so if the beach is what you're looking for this place is pretty legit. First impressions are always the most important. Last Iberostar (Jamaica) we stayed at I can still tell you our bell hop and butlers name. They always greeted us by name. We did not get the personal service at this Iberostar that we have in the past. We had to wait over 1 hour to get into our room. Check in was very unprofessional. Barley a ocean view room. Butler that explained our room to us was very inexperienced. Survey was passed out midweek about our stay and the shows, The day before we checked out we were asked if we had any concerns or complaints (via phone) about our stay. If we had a Butler that was a TRUE Butler he would of known about our concerns and complaints before a survey came out. We did see several people carrying there own luggage when leaving as we did. That is when a different Butler came and ask us (the day we were checking out) how they could improve our stay. We save for an entire year for 1 week vacation and we feel we did not get what we paid for on this vacation. Food was great! Beach staff, pool staff, and restaurant staff was very attentive and friendley. Room and ground always clean. When we return to Punta Cana we would stay here. Resort is well kept, service is good and even excelent at times, pleanty of staff around, rooms are clean, resort is quiet & relaxing, food is good, spa/fitness center is very good. Fist of all - if you haven't made your mind for Punta Cana yet - don't hesitate. It has the best beach, weather and hospitality we've seen so far. The Grand Hotel - exclusive property, great room, Jacuzzi with a view, 24h room service. The food - overall great food can be found for every taste and preference. We visited the other a la carte restaurants as well as restaurants in the adjacent Iberostar resort - still good food and experience but not at the level of these three restaurants. What we found off-putting in the beginning was the constant attention of the staff. Everyone is greeting you all the time, you get maid service twice a day, complimentary bottle of wine is coming, the floor butler is stopping by to check on you - it could be overwhelming. But the staff is very flexible, they quickly got it that we preferred to be left alone, and we learned to use the Do Not Disturb sign, so it was all good at the end. We just wanted to rest and lie on the beach/along the pool, but the snorkeling mini excursion (organized by the Diving center) and sailing with the catamaran were great experiences, totally worth the cost and time. This was probably one of THEE best vacations we have ever had. Iberostar Grand Hotel literally has thought of everything. You need something, they will find it. We even wanted something specific for dinner one night and the waiter went straight to the chef and they made it for us. You feel like royalty there.
