Very nice location and physical amenities. Had an issue with shower temperature (could set too hot or too cold but not in between). Also, some noise from nearby guests due to thin walls, but that is pretty common for hotels. Nice breakfast, but coffee production could not keep up with demand.

Our room was very nicely furnished. The breakfast was delicious and the lounge had a very pretty view. We were there at Thanksgiving and had a pleasant morning watching the paraqde on TV in the lounge. I would definitely go there again and recommend it to anyone.

So, we read about this lovely stream at the back of the hotel where guests can have breakfast and overlook the stream at the same time and we were hooked. We loved the romantic stream which was right there.....I mean go to the terrace and you can hear and see the river as you eat!! We went to Poughkeepsie to enjoy the fall colors and visit the FDR […] home and library, the Vanderbilt Mansion, and the walkway over the Hudson. I loved the hotel...stay at least two nights. Lots to do and its beautiful already......lots of yellows and reds....... This hotel is not a four star but we loved the romantic setting and nature so we would upgrade it. This is a wonderful hotel, in an excellent location for activities around the Poughkeepsie area. The only problem was that the elevator was not functioning in the night of our stay. The desk clerk helped with our luggage, but it would be best to call if that is a concern.
