Best Western West Grange Hotel - 伯克 (郡)

Stayed three nights, friendly and helpful staff. Room was clean and quiet, good location for Newbury. Good value. Would book again.

Hotel ok. Receptionist very good and helpful hotel bar staff need to cheer up, Very noisy at night as lots of yongsters staying.

A nice hotel overall, setting rural and very pleasant. Breakfast and dinner courteusly served and of good quality. The only criticisms were the heating came on in the middle of the night and made the room uncomfortably stuffy. Likewise there was a very sophisticated shower which did not work in all its many forms but pleanty of hot water.

Only fault, the buffer plate warmer at breakfast didn't work, which meant the food the food cooled very quickly. Was informed that the job is in hand.

Hotel was excellent, clean with high standard bathroom etc. Only criticism is that the pillows were not very comfortable. Would be good if a feather pillow was an option.

We were initially given a room at the back of the hotel. It was cold, smelt musty and the bed sheets felt damp. The corridor outside smelt musty and damp as well, as though that part of the hotel had not been used for a while. A fire door was propped open; we assumed to get rid of the smell of damp. The gentleman on reception was very helpful and we […] were given another, smaller but nice and warm, room upstairs. We had a pleasant evening meal in the bar, a good nights sleep and a very good breakfast so, to be fair, all was good and we could forgive the damp room as we'd been moved so quickly and efficiently. Checkout was almost farcical though. The lady behind the desk ignored us initially, finally glared at us and took out details. No pleasantries, no "did you have a nice stay", not even a slight hint of a smile. If she was not so over-the-top unfriendly and unhelpful we might have been offended but it was as much as we could do to get out of the door without collapsing with laughter. One small complaint, WiFi not working. Can't comment on food as we dined with family in nearby Thatcham. Thanks.

The bed mattress had seen better days, and should be replaced. Find the bar area very cold and bland, although we do like the dining room seating, as we have eaten there before. Limited food and drinks menu, stopped us using the Bar and Dining room facilities at all, we dined at the Travel Inn next door. More food options and also real ale available. […] Do not like buffet breakfast, so we had breakfast in Thatcham, down the road. We always try and stay in the Travel Inn but they were fully booked. Great place to stay if working or visiting in Newbury or Reading. A stylish modern hotel in a very peacful setting.

Stayed at this hotel for one night. Room was spacious and welcoming. No air con meant the room was really hot. Room was above kitchen and courtyard (not mentioned by check-in staff) so extractor fan was going until late and then early in the morning. Walls were paper thin...hope our neighbours weren't after privacy! Shower was good in the evening but […] following morning there was no pressure and the shower and tap barely trickled. This was a pot luck choice from the internet. It certainly was the correct choice first class service easy to find and a very reasonable price.
