brilliant location, on the water directly under the castle..5 minutes walk to town square. Unfortunately whole place reeked of curry ( as the on-board restaurant was indian ) Receptionist made no eye contact and couldn't crack a smile. After the initial excitement of staying in a hotel on a boat, the cold reality of this terrifying experience sunk in pretty rapidly. The dripping tap and the constant smell of Indian were to be the least of our worries.. The idea of a boat-hotel seemed very good, however, as soon as you step into the boat you are struck by a strong smell of curry from the Indian resturant on board. I've stayed in the worst hostels across Europe and Asia, and I thought earplugs and sleeping pills could make even the worst conditions bearable... I was wrong. The hotel staff neglected to inform us a wedding would be taking place directly above us-- loud techno and hip-hop rattled our walls until 4:00 in the morning. Was fun having a room on the Danube and overlooking the Danube! The room was the size of a cruise ship room including the bathroom. We spend 3 nights there. The fact that it is located at the Donau river means that you are able to look at the 'life' with the other boats/ships that are passing on. The ability of speaking english from the staff could be better. You pay for aircondition and we were told, that they had technical problems, so it didn't work. I loved staying here. The room was spacious and clean and the bathroom and shower were great. I had one of the few double rooms (most are twins) and it was one of the largest rooms on the boat. Enjoyed the novelty of staying in this 'Botel', moored on the Danube, just beneath the castle. My single, ensuite cabin, was basic but adequate. It had a good shower but the air-con was pretty ineffective. Breakfast was limited to cereal, scrambled egg & ham/cheese, but that suited me fine. We stayed at the Botel for 4 nights towards the end of October. It is situated just a short, pleasant stroll along the Danube from the Old Town, which was a lovely aspect to our stay. The botel itself is by no means luxurious, but nor does it claim to be. You can expect exactly what you find, basic, inexpensive accomodation on a boat with a lovely old […] world feel to it. You also have the benefits of the fabulous view of the Danube when you wake up in the morning and at night when the stars are out. We found the staff to be very friendly, all spoke English and were happy to help.The breakfast is basic but adequate (coffee instant on the down side). The Indian restaurant situated on the boat did not bother us with strong smells as some other reviewers have mentioned? However, we did find that our room got very hot even in October and the air con was not sufficiently cool enough. We had a couple of occasions when other boats passed along the river and the botel 'rocked' but this was funny and made us laugh, you need to take these things in your stride I guess! We found the botel to be 'quaint and quirky' All in all it was a good place for us to stay as a base to explore The Danube, Old Town and surrounding area. 詳情

This is the smallest hotel room I have ever stayed in. Service was mostly adequate and the price was right. Location on the river near the old town is pretty good. The Indian restaurant on the top floor is quite good (if a little bland, but excellent Dal). You can do better.

For the price I paid I was very satisfied. Service in general is not a very warm, smiling or motivated one, but it was decent and fair. I was happy with it. Great place to stay if you are arriving by river. Just a short walk along the river bank from the port. Easy access to castle and old town for food and drink. The novelty of staying on a boat was not redeeming enough for Botel Marina. The rooms are small, but this is not a problem. More of a problem was that the toilet seat was unscrewed, light bulbs in our room kept burning out, the A/C was barely functional, the window wouldn't stay closed, and the persistent smell of Indian food (fine at dinner, gross […] in the morning). I'm a frequent visitor to Bratislava and I decided this trip to go "frugal", choosing to try one of the botels along the main waterfront. The location is good and it is easy to walk to the two main malls along the Danube and the old city. Public transportation is abundant and easily accessible nearby. My room was comfortable, the bathroom a bit of a […] challenge with a co-located toilet and shower with a curtain. The towels had seen a better day and I will bring a couple of my own next time. The TV was old and small though I never turned it on. My room was not cleaned every day and I easily took care of things myself. Breakfast was included and was basic. Parking is extremely limited in the area and I would not recommended trying to stay at any of the botels while renting a car. The staff was curtious. There is a disco boat docked nearby and a disco operates on the weekends on the botel -- a bit noisy but tolerable (perhaps a summer phenomenon). I did note that many young people and bikers traveling along the Danube stop here -- this type of accomodation is much better than a hostel, for just a few more Euro. Truthfully, in a foreign country, a clean room, private facilities, is all one needs. Overall, given the deal I received through Expedia and the acceptable conditions at Botel Marina and its location, I'm very pleased with my stay. I read the reviews of this hotel on Hotels.com and decided to stay there for a night. We arrive late, and asked for a room on second floor (the hotel has only too floors). The stairway to the second floor was completely dark! Then we entered the room. It was small and it looked OK. But then the nightmare began. The roof and wall corners were full of […] spider nets and spiders. It seemed nobody cleaned that area for a while. There was an Indian guy at the reception. He saw the room and offered us another one. we went to the new room which was even worse than the previous one. finally we cleaned the room ourselves (because they refused to clean it, they said there are just nets and no spider is there, and only accepted it when I caught one alive). We slept with fear of spiders and other bugs. The breakfast was very simple. I strongly not recommend this hotel. Staying on a boat on the Danube rather than traditional hotel sounded cool - but the reality is that the boat option is not so good - like being woken up in the night by the wake of a passing boat causing a very loud banging and jarring as the boat is rocked. Hotel was a good value for the money spent. Location is very convenient to down-town being only a 5-10 minute walk. No shops, restaurants or any "neighborhood" to speak of in the general vicinity around the Botel. Just a long stretch of sidewalk paralleling a major road leading into downtown. Hotel is very near to the main bridge in Bratislava with the UFO restaurant on it and a nice walking park on the far side of the bridge. Hotel staff spoke decent English. Where their ability was lacking they made up for it with friendliness and a desire to communicate and help you with your stay. Staff spoke very little German, which is surprising considering the proximity to Vienna, and usually deferred to English despite my willingness to speak either. The top floor serves as an authentic Indian restaurant. Did not eat there but was told the food is excellent. Bottom floor is a small bar. This gets really loud at night but was not a disturbance in the room. If you're in the lobby though it is loud. There is a pole in the club which made me assume it was a strip club, but I never saw any girls doing any such things. Breakfast was surprisingly good. Served in the Indian restaurant on the top floor of the boat it has a nice view over the river. Serves bread, meat, cheese, jams and yogurt with juices and milk to drink. Restaurant staff also offered to cook us eggs to our liking - we had omelets. No solid means of getting to airport (M.L. Stefanik) from Botel except a bus ride requiring multiple change overs or a €20 taxi ride (which the Botel called for us). All and all, a very good stay. Stu and I decided to stay at the Botel Marina based on all of it's quirks. It's harbored on the left bank of the Danube. There is an Indian Restaurant on board. The rooms are like little cruise cabins. There is a bar/nightclub downstairs WITH A STRIPPER POLE! And, once we got there, we enjoyed the stunning vews from the restaurant, the amazing staff […] and the comfort of this hotel. Clean, efficient and reaonably priced, rooms small and bath smaller! Pleasant Indian restaurant onboard which also serves a good breakfast. The only incident was the "big Bang in the night", when the wake from passing barge tows rocked the boat and slammed it against the huge steel pipes that secure it to the Danube's bank. Be aware of this.

We stayed for the experience of sleeping on a boat on the Danube and it was ok, but we would not recommend Botel Marina. This place claims to be a 4-star hotel but does not deserve more than 1 star. The quality of the service was very low and the staff not very efficient and could not speak much English. Our towels were old and ripped and were not changed […] in the morning. Also we had to ask for extra ones because they put only towels for 1 person. The shower had only one knob so to turn on the cold water we had to take the knob off of the hot and place it on the other one. Plus, on both days that we stayed there they run out of hot water after a while so one of us had to take a cold shower. There is a computer in the lobby with free internet but when we approached to use it, it was not connected and the woman at the reception had no idea how to fix the problem, she said a technician could have come only in the morning. Apart from this, the room was as expected (small but clean and with our own bathroom, which was nice and we weren't sure about it) and the free breakfast was all right. The walk to the old town was longer than expected but overall no more than 15 minutes. This place was ok for a night or two and it was a reasonable price considered the location, but for a little bit more money I would recommend to check out the other botels in Bratislava! 詳情

Hotellets läge är det enda positiva med vistelsen där. Överhuvudtaget väldigt låg kvalitet på Service. Väldigt spartanskt frukostbuffë som inte fylls på när saker och ting tar slut. Är det slut på bröd tex då får man tydligen nöja sig med flingor och mjölk, för att det finns ingen personal till hands heller. Rummen är inte ljudisolerade så det minsta […] ljud i korridoren eller rummen intill hörs utmärkt i rummet. Saker och ting som går sönder blir tydligen aldrig lagade: de två närmaste lamporna utanför min dörr var trasiga hela tiden, så för att hitta nyckelhålet var man antingen tvungen att ha fram mobilen för att få lite ljus, eller bara känna med händerna. La colazione è scarsina. La camera è pulita (importante) ma cade a pezzi. L'accoglienza è mediamente buona, però il taxi non fatevelo chiamare da loro, spendete precisamente il doppio di quello che spendereste chiamandolo da soli. Comunque è comodo e ci tornerei.
