This was my second time staying at the Downtown. It is located centrally in Gozo and is only a short walk to the city centre including bus terminal and... shopping area. The hotel is noisy as the floors are furnished with tiles and you can hear everyone coming and going - particularly on the weekends when the Maltese visit and they speak WAY too loudly and have no respect for other hotel patrons. Although this is not a fault of the hotel administration per se, but it would be better for other non-Maltese patrons if they were located to their own floor. They are gone on Sunday so the main part of the week is fairly quiet. The breakfast is very basic and is the same each and every day. This is okay if you are staying for a few days - it can get a little boring if you stay more than 2-3 days. The hotel is very clean and the bathroom is well accomodated. There is a balcony too and the country views are lovely. You do not get many hotel amenities - basically its a combo bath/shampoo gel on offer. The TV is the old style tube TV. Overall, its a budget hotel at a budget price - you get what you pay for - nothing more and nothing less. Staff are helpful but only greet you if you speak to them first.
