Major Renovation going on expect the place to be in top shape latter this spring

My wife and I decided to get away to the outer banks and decided to stay at the Sea Ranch for the second time, but requested an oceanfront room. To our surprise, it wasn't a room, but a suite with a master bedroom, another bedroom with two twin beds, a living/dining room with a kitchen and a small laundry room. The suite was neat and orderly. I should prefece this by saying that we go every summer to the Outer Banks and have a time share just down the street in the Golden Strand. If you are looking for a fancy hotel, this is not it. Very friendly staff. Good value for the price. Very clean but OLD outdated room. Bathroom had a very loud leak coming from the toilet and shower that made for an uncomfortable night as I'm a light sleeper. The room I was in was next to an exit door that was used all night and i heard everytime the door was opened and closed. Complimentary breakfast […] is down the road and a short walk. The Sea Ranch would be a great hotel if you like decor from the 1960s. A breakfast voucher is given for a bar & pub a short distance from the hotel. I have no desire to eat breakfast in a bar. The pool area is nice but the dressing rooms are in terrible condition. Don't intend to stay again.

We had such a wonderful time with a beautiful view of the ocean. This was not our first time at the Sea Ranch. It is one of our most favorite places. The beds were very comfortable and the staff very attentive. I know we'll be going back again!

Although the hotel was under construction, the room was clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly and the breakfast vouchers for Jolly Roger were awesome! The view was so pretty and the kids loved the beach. I would definitely stay here again.

We stayed at the Sea Ranch for a wedding. The location is terriffic (right on the beach) but it is obvious the place has not been renovated in 30 years. It was overall pretty gross.

The hotel itself is a little old, but the rooms are fine. If you're looking for a luxury spa type experience, go somewhere else. This is your basic hotel building with beach front rooms. The balconies are glassed in, with sliding windows, which was a little weird but okay at the same time. I guess it's good to have that in the winter. Though I booked […] and was confirmed in a King room, when we go to the hotel we were told "no kings available and Hotels.com approved putting you in a double queen"...funny, no one bothered to check with me on that one...it wasn't that big a deal, but had I been okay with two beds (that were not queen sized by theway) then I would have stayed at a different property that I usually stay at because it's beach view is better AND it has a kitchen. This room had a mini fridge and microwave though... Needless to say, I wasn't happy with hotels.com at all about that. Back to the hotel; the staff was great, beach access very convenient, the pool looked good (we didn't use it) and the rooms were pretty comfortable. Our room came with breakfast. We were originally told we had two choices of restaurants to use, but the voucher we received was for one specific restaurant. The restaurant is less than a block away, so you can walk easily. The atmosphere was a bit wacky :-), the service was outstanding and the food was absolutely awesome! If you compare this room price & value with teh breakfast addition to others with their "hot breakfast" in the lobby, The Sea Ranch and Jolly Roger wins hands down! The location was great, right on the beach. The hotel has three parts - an older section facing the parking lot, and two newer sections on the beach - one part with guest rooms and another abandoned part with time share condos. What a shame that such a great location is being wasted. Our room smelled of mildew and the A/C was so noisy that we kept it […] off most of the time and hoped for a cool breeze through the outside door. The pool was nice but needed some sprucing up. The worn carpet on the all the concrete areas did not give you a "clean" feeling. From what we heard, The Pearl, the onsite French cuisine restaurant, was wonderful, but pricey. We did not take advantage of that . The rates were reasonable as we went just after the season was over in late September. Having the indoor pool was important to us and we did enjoy that. The offsite breakfast at The Jolly Roger was great and worth the trip. It was included in our package for both days. Overall, it was just okay. Would stay again. Best location for a fair price.

I have stayed in many hotels at the Outer Banks and most are older and could use some updating however this was comfortable, safe, and had an outstanding staff!! The attached building was closed and therefore looked a little ghostly but it was to our advantage for parking and lots of space on the beach. We would walk to the end of the building and go […] out to the beach where hardly anyone was at! I never heard any noise from the other rooms except when the door leading outside would shut at the end of the hallway.(Only during the day) I would stay here again in the future if we do not rent a house. 詳情

Upon arrival we noticed the horrible condition of the exterior and poor grounds maint. My girlfriend and i thought the hotel was closed and not open for buisness. The hotel staff was friendly, but the room was scary and smelled of strong mildew and mold. The bed sheets had blood stains on them and the comforters had countless holes( looked like cig […] burns). The carpet stayed soaked in certain places with almost standing water and we could not figure out why?. The bathroom was floor was made of tiny tiles and the grout was covered in black mold as well as the shower( we had to line the floor with towels as we did not want to step on them!) The ceiling had countles poorly patches and unpatched holes and looked very bad. The only positive thing i can say about this hotel is that its just a few feet from the beautifull beach. I would not consider ever staying here again...even if it was free! 詳情

Friendly service, good view and beach area. Building and facilities need updating.
