This is an absolutely delightfull place to stay. My only complaint is the loud music from a venue across the street. But the room is so comfy you eventually forget about it. And the music turns off promptly at 2am. Otherwise, everything else is great! Will definitely return for another stay.

The wife and I loved this place, went to a Padre game, the hotel is only a block away from the park. We didn't want to leave. Will come back for sure.

Room had clogged sink and broken facet. I was unaware that they charged guest for parking. $40 a day. Because of that I will not be stayingg there again.

We only stayed here for one night but I wish we could've stayed longer. We were in town visiting friends/relatives and decided to go for a higher end hotel for one night (after staying in a fairly low-end one for most of the trip). We've stayed in a Kimpton hotel before and this was as great as te first trip. They have a wine happy hour from 5 to 6 […] and they are very generous with the wine. They're also in the Gaslamp district which features shopping and a plethora of great restaurants and bars. The hotel itself has a great bar and pool on the 4th floor. In short, the hotel is immaculate, the staff is very friendly (dog friendly too!) and a Kimpton Hotel is always a great time. 詳情

Very nice, hip hotel. Rooms are well appointed, with a really well stocked minibar. Bed was comfortable and room was very clean. Hotel Solamar is very nicely decorated and in a great location. There are small details that really add to the stay: a complimentary goldfish in your room, tea & coffee service in the morning, iced tea and lemonade in the afternoon. The staff is very nice and accommodating. I would definitely stay here again!

The good: Beautiful hotel...great service...comfortable rooms. My flight got me to SD around 10am and I went to the hotel really just looking for a wifi hotspot to work in until I was able to check in. The gentleman at the front desk said hey let me see if there's a room available...the was...and voila! The room was great...well appointed...comfy bed...nice […] minibar snacks...definitely a 4 to 5 star room. They've got a resturant downstairs (J six) great food. The staff was very friendly. I'm a fan of boutique hotels and this is surely one if not the best one that I've have the pleasure of staying in. The not so good: The first night we were in the side of the hotel that's near a night club. The beats of club music could be heard till around 1:30am. Had I been in the club I surely wouldn't have had this concern but since I was trying to get some shuteye that was kind of a downer. The good news is the next day they gladly moved us to a quieter room where I got a perfect nights sleep. So, there are lot of clubs in the gas lamp area and if clubbing is on the agenda this concern may well be a don't care..if on the other hand when you go to bed you want quiet then be sure to ask for a quiet room. I also thought the hotel parking was pretty expensive ($40 per night) and because of the popularity of the gas lamp area there aren't a lot of options so if you stay here you'll need to be prepared for this costs. 詳情

The hotel was nicely appointed and the room was clean. It caters to the all-night party crowd, which can also be heard outside in the neighborhood until 3 or 4 in the morning. Hotel is close to fifth avenue and the convention center which are a must if traveling to San Diego on business. Also, hotel offers free wine from 5-6pm which is a nice way to relax after working during the day and another added bonus is that the Gaslamp Quarter is just like New Orleans were the city comes alive once the sun sets.

Hotel was beautiful, staff was extremely friendly. Room was super cute. A very convenient location, easy walk to market street (gas lamp) and Petco park. Two complaints: 1) parking was really expensive. Although in their defense, most of downtown SD parking lots excessively priced. 2) we were in room 501, which has a street view...there is a restaurant/club […] across the street. Music can be heard until1:30am. Last time we stayed here the pool was great, the service at the pool bar was great! This time all the bartenders are jerks and a bunch of people are laying in the poolside lounge chairs that aren't even guests (I asked a lot of them). Not only is the hotel located right in the Gaslamp Quarter and it is an easy walk around town and down to the harbor. The staff is very friendly and willing to do whatever it might be to make your stay a pleasant one.

I chose this hotel because it was one of the few that had 2 Queen beds rather than 2 Double beds. The hotel is really nice and the location is great, can't deny that. This hotel has very thin walls. You hear your neighbors' music at 3am. You hear the stadium PA system at 8am. You hear the party at the pool all afternoon and evening. Otherwise, very nice hotel. Just go expecting a party, not peace and quite.

Well worth it! This hotel was at a higher price then we would normally pay but it sure delivered! Great location, great social scene on the 4th floor pool + bar, wine reception to kick start the evening, what a great stay. Definately would recommend this hotel for a romantic weekend getaway.

The hotel was pretty nice..excellent location, room clean although a little small. The only downside was the cost of the parking..$40 for 1 day. If you are patient enough, they have street parking but you need to drive around a few times to occupy one, We went there on a Sunday before the President's day weekend and they had free wine at the lobby from […] 5pm til 6pm which is a plus for people who drank. Rooms were fine but fourth floor pool bar way too noisy. Could not sleep,music way too loud. Party above us at 2:00am. Management did not seem too sympathetic to our concerns. Would not stay here again

It was peaceful and quiet. The staff was really nice. Housekeeping brought up towels in no time. The only concern was the shower head was squirting in all directions causing mist to go everywhere. This was a little bit of a nuissance, but not a deal breaker.

A few nice hotel located in the Gaslamp district of San Diego. Friendly and helpful staff and good rooms. The pool area is great and so is the bar and the restaurant. Many of the guest had dogs with them so it is al dog friendly hotel which for some (me included). Dogs can make a noise and they do like to smell you too.
