Though the reception seemed outdated, the room was clean, and the toilet was renovated. The wireless signal was strong. Very comfortable stay at a reasonable price.

The rooms are simple, baths are renovated and rather big by budget hotel standards. Staff was very nice. Location is perfect: one block from the beach and two blocks from Lincoln Drive with many restaurants and shops. Great option is you don't mind budget hotels. Certainly, my favorite budget hotel thus far in South Beach and I will return.

On the plus side, the hotel is at a great location. It is a block from the beach, on Collins St., across the street from Ritz Carlton. Great location. One block back from the beach and one block from the strip of Lincoln Rd. Plenty of food options and easy for transport - buses across the road, taxis just 50m down the road. Room was very basic, bed, 2 end tables, table and two chairs. However, there was a refrigerator and microwave. The in-room safe was at eye-level and convenient to use. The bathroom was newly renovated and very nice! It was as nice as the InterContinental, only much smaller! The staff was friendly and helpful.

My family and I were attending a weekend event at the National Hotel across the street and I paid over a hundred dollars less per night than what was offered at a discounted rate. Cheap, very conveniently located especially if going to the conference centre. Wifi works well and fridge, freezer, ironing board and air conditioning. Swimming pool a little basic (and unheated so cold in cooler weather) but overall good value.

Booked my room for a show taking place at the convention center . I have stayed near this hotel in the past , stayed in similar rooms. It is South Beach , where the women think bikinis are casual attire and the men can surprise you ! During in season when a convention or show is being held I expect to pay top dollar for a room described as funky or […] artsy means , a bed , bathroom tiny, TV , AC, and walls so thin you never even have to consider paying for the adult movie channel ! The hotel was going through some remodeling so I didn't expect that I was going to be in tip top shape but it served its purpose. The beds wasn't comfortable, towels were rough, tv was old but the staff was helpful. I didnt expect much since the price was low enough to not mind those little things. First and most important, the bathrooms are renovated and they are perfect, clean and with hot water!. Location is amaizing, close to Lincon Rd, La Espanola Way (awsome restaurants) and convetion center. For the hotels near by that are super expensive San Juan Hotel is just right for the price, nothing fancy, just what you need for a few nights.

We were placed in a room that was very noisy,not sure if it was the air conditioning unit outside our window, but we had no sleep the entire night. The rooms were a bit smelly, but bathroom was ok just very small. The only plus point was that this hotel is conveniently located to everything . We will definitely not stay here again.

This hotel isn't worthy of a 2 star rating. The room, carpet, curtains and walls are dingy and dirty. There weren't nightstands or lamps beside the bed. I wouldn't bathe my dog in the swimming pool at San Juan Hotel. I had booked two nights, but checked out after the first night. I want my money back.

The San Juan is a budget hotel one block from the beach and very close to Lincoln Street Mall, near several big expensive hotels. The room was basic but clean, with a refrigerator, a microwave, an iron and ironing board and a small TV. Also, the faceplates on some of the electrical switches need replacing - the plugs on my appliances kept falling out of a couple of them. (There were several power points in the room, so it was not a major problem.) The staff were friendly and helpful, there was an ATM in the foyer and a coin operated laundry in the hotel, as well as a small swimming pool out the back.There is a supermarket close by as well as plenty of restaurants within walking distance, and the area was quite safe to walk in at night (I was travelling as a single female). Tour companies picked up from the hotel, and the bus stop for the Miami airport bus and various other buses was just across the road. Taxis were readily available. I made some phone calls from the phone in my room, including one to Australia and was pleasantly surprised at the cost - very reasonable. The staff was nice. The room was pretty basic. TV only had a few local channels, no cable. Beds weren't luxurious or anything but they were acceptable. The bathroom looked newly remodeled and was very nice. Understand that this is an old building and the bathrooms are going to be small. And there was only a shower, no tub.

Great location and for the price we paid we got a nice tidy room with kitchenette. The bathroom was modern and there were no issues at all with noise from the street or clubs nearby. We would defintely stay again.
