If you need to stay near Wheeling, Lincolnshire or Vernon Hills this hotel is OK. Don't expect anything special. The price is low but the rooms are fair. Hotel is old and run down. It is near 294 so you can get around and into Chicago fairly easily. There is not much around the hotel in terms of eating. You have to go north to find restaurants. Even though Illinois prohibits smoking in all businesses and hotels, this place reeks of cigarette smoke. Property is run down and ready for the wrecking ball.

I 've stayed here for four years and this will most likely be my last. The owner of the hotel has decided to make to many cuts to the amenities that kept myself and several others coming year after year.

Inoperable ice machine on second floor. No kleenek in bathroom.Limited menu in restaurant and costs very unreasonable.

Thermostat was broken, so the heat (and AC) was either fully on or off

It was about 30 to 45 minutes from where I wanted to really be, but the hotel was nice and clean. Only two complaints that I have is that there is nothing to do around it and on the website it showed that they had a Bowling Alley, but once we got there and asked about it, the clerk said t was only for RSVP parties:(. This hotel was very clean. The rooms are nice. The only complaints I have are that the ice machines didn't work at all, except the one way on the other end of the hotel, and the complimentary breakfast was very sad. Hardly anything to choose from. But, the hotel is close to many restaurants and shopping. Another thing too, is that the name listed here, […] the Fairbridge Hotel, is not the actual name of it. This is a one star hotel which has to be closed down immediately. Everything is old, dirty and stinky. It is a shame to advertise it as a 2 plus stars hotel. It is located in the middle of nowhere. The cost of a cab from O'Hare airport to this hotel is $45.00. Absolutely awful hotel!!!

Simply awful. The place had an odor, and you couldn't walk 2' in any direction without seeing a stain. Even the bedsheet was stained (I slept on top of the cover). It sounded like a good deal at 50% off, but it wasn't. I would never want to stay here again (at any price).

I was not able to connect to the internet the entire time I was staying at this hotel. I was not able to perform my work and had to find the nearest library to do so. I called front desk several times to have them correct this issue. They did inform me that they have a computer room available for guests to use. Although its an old hotel, its been renovated to a focus on getting the important stuff right. Great mattress, clean bathrooms and overall good. Negatives. The room heater is old fashioned. Since there is no thermostat, getting a comfortable setting takes a lot of trial and error. WiFi is so weak, that it as good as no wi-fi.

Unfriendly, untalkative from desk help. Old rooms, Old furnishings. Water didnt drain fast emough in shower. Toilet makes noises all night. Results: Spend an extra $$$ on a name brand property.

The hotel looks nice but beds were not clean,breakfast very bad,not fresh,coffe was so bad we thought it was tea,the color and taste was horrible

The room was fine, clean, and adequate. Very cheap and good price for what you're paying. Suggestions: better pillows and get rid of smoking rooms. Thank ya.

I was impressed with the friendly staff and the quaintness and cleanliness of the rooms. Quality hotel and fabulous price!

The best I can say about this small, poorly planned room, is it didn't cost as much as other options. It wasn't hard to find. The least favorable parts of my stay included the air conditioner placed about 5 feet up the wall beside one of the beds. If your expectation is anything above a 2 star hotel you will be disappointed. The hotel breakfast leaves much to be desired. The decor is very 1980's. The Hotel was clean though very worn. Nothing really close for food alternatives and the hotel restaurant was mostly bar food.

This hotel is okay for a 2 star rating. Fitness room and breakfast are decent. Is on well water and plumbing could be improved. But the wi fi is mostly not existent. There are 2 sometimes 3 links, but that does not mean you can log on. and if you do, the internet is more than half the times not there. If you do make an internet connection, expect it […] to be slow and drop out a lot. Each time I called the front desk about the wi fi problem, i was told the engineer would be notified. My husband and I stay at this property every weekend. The staff is really GREAT!!

This hotel was a pleasant surprise. Free breakfast every morning, a lounge, game room and reasonable rates. The staff is also helpful and professional, I would stay again.

It has been a nice stay. Even though it's far from downtown chicago, the availability of shuttle service from hotel to train station and vice versa makes it easy for us.

The room is small and so-called wireless internet never works. They provide two public computers but one is out of order. The pub inside the hotel got load music at late night.

good price-performance ratio, service (shuttle to and from the airport and to the next train station) is excellent, breakfast good, rooms very clean

Poor directions for getting to Hotel from the front desk. Also the Airport Shuttle does NOT run hourly all day. It may line up with your needs...be sure to ask and ask again..
