We stay here frequently. A good value for the price. The rooms could use an update. New TV's for sure. And get rid of the bedspreads like most hotels have done. However its clean and the service is great.

We usually stay in a condo with friends, but since it was only going to be my boyfriend and I we could only afford a hotel. We booked this room the day before and our expectations were really low--we have stayed at many crappy places in Mammoth. We were pleasantly surprised at how big and clean the room was! The décor is dated (bad 80s) but the room […] was really clean and even had a wet bar with another big mirror, sink, microwave and mini fridge. The continental breakfast was super convenient and the underground parking was awesome considering it dumped 5 feet during our stay. And check out is at noon (vs. 10am at most condos) so we could actually ride and have a warm place to come back and change. It's also close to the shuttle. We were loving it! A little old and rundown, signs of high volume traffic through the hotel, adequate if your really tired from skiing and just want a place to sleep. Breakfast, well you get continental and you get really basic continental, and tha'ts what Shilo does for its guests on a makeshift table in the lobby.

Liked the location and staff, but the elevator was broken most of the time and third floor after skiing all day and with extra ski gear baggage was a bit rough at my age. Might stay thereagain though some day. The price as good.

Pointers: they found our mitten and kept it for us to pick up. The employee that helped me prepare waffles. The breakfast provided was very well presented. Parking was never an issue. The staff was always watching and asking if we needed anything. Everyone was friendly and courteous. Downers: I am so glad we got a room with two beds because one bed […] was too soft and uncomfortablefor us and so we used the other bed the second night. We did laundry and I would recommend putting an air refreshener in that laundry room because it smells bad. We did not use the pool nor jacuzzi because we were not interested in doing that with this trip so I cannot comment on that at all because we just passed by that area. Maybe next time. 詳情

Very unhappy. Desk did not acknowledge our presence for a long time. Hotel in very poor condition. Needs complete remodeling. We wanted to leave but had already paid. Room door lock did not seem secure. Still using real keys, not cards. Wall and doors in lobby, hallways and room were beat up. Lobby gave very poor feeling. Breakfast ok. Friendly staff, nice appointments in room, clean and comfortable.

The rooms were very large... the largest rooms in the price range for Mammoth as far as I know. Everything was clean and tidy with exception of the pool and hot tub... those need a good scrubbing, but it was nice that they're open 24/7. The staff was great... I'd stay again.

On the hotel: staff were friendly and helpful. Room was okay. Free continental breakfast is great if you don't need protein in the morning. On the location: easy walking access to many restaurants and shops on Old Mammoth Road and Main Street. Convenient access to public transit as well.

This was the surprise of our vacation. We loved the hotel. 24 hrs swimming pool, sauna, gym etc. Location cannot be better. Staff was the best we have seen for a long time. Best place for the family with kids. Thank You.

Were in town for the night. Price a bit high, but worth it, given the location. The breakfast bar could be improved, employee not too enthusiastic about keeping bar stocked. A bit of an attitude. Overall, hotel good for short stay.

This hotel is a little dated but has everything that you need. The rooms were big and it was fairly quiet compared to others. The only complaint is the hot tub was very wimpy (large but no jet power). After hiking 32 miles, I was looking forward to a good blast of my sore muscles in the hot tub - no success there. The price was right so have at it.

The entire hotel had a foul odor, which reminded me of a retirement home. The spa (hot tub) looked dirty, due to either dirty water or stained tiles.

Needs renovation. Run down hotel. Thought it would be better than staying at an Econo Lodge but it's not.

The rooms were large, very quiet but convenient location, lots of hot water and comfortable beds. That being said, the hotel is in serious need of maintenance and looks very shabby. Peeling walls outside, patched ceilings, broken shower fixtures, dark corridors. A decent place to rest if you are out all day.

Stayed the night before doing a hike up to Garnet Lake. Room was comfortable and clean. Continental breakfast was sufficient: Waffles, juice, bagels, muffins, cereal. Overall the hotel was dark and danky, we roasted in our room per not able to turn off heater or turn on AC. Free continental breakfast had only waffle or prepackaged pasteries available because most of the appliances in service kitchen were broken. The hotel was nice, rooms were big. Overall condition was good, the only downside was the small breakfast area for this size hotel. People had to eat in the lobby because the lack of seats. Friendly people at the front desk.

This hotel is a great location, close to restaurants and stores. McDonalds is just steps from the hotel entrance. Very convenient for families! Covered garage is useful when weather conditions turn bad. Bus stop for ski resort is within close proximity. Pool and jacuzzi need some remodel but was still very popular with families. Very friendly place and our dog loved it too

This is an older hotel with a five star staff! Pros: covered parking, lots of space in room, vanity and sink separate from toilet and shower, indoor pool, jacuzzi, and sauna, clean rooms, breakfast bar with do-it-yourself waffles, dog friendly, staff is willing to help with all your needs, and is conveniently located next to village shuttle, fast food, […] drug store, and sporting goods store. No towels on day 1 until next afternoon after I requested again and again, and still they were very late in responding. Bedding had some trash on arrival, faucet sink came loose and I had to fix it instead cause they never responded. Desk drawer was missing. Window could not be secured. It's not a bad place to stay, but definitely not great. The rooms need updating, especially the televisions. We love The Shilo Inn. Very friendly, the location is very convenient. We highly recommend this hotel. We always go back! Can't wait for our next visit in about 2 weeks!

Stayed one (very) snowy night in March 2011. The reception staff was extremely efficient, friendly and helpful. Room was basic (carpet needed cleaning) but adequate. I love this hotel. it is so reasonable compared to other hotels int he area. Especially when you consider the amenities it offers. It is the only hotel I will stay in when visiting Mammoth!

A wonderful hotel experience. Checked in @ 11:30 a.m. w/a friend after a 2 day bachlorette party w/15 girls. We needed rest & some down time. We were given a room right away. The room was clean, well stocked & very comfortable. The next morning, we headed to the lobby for breakfast. The attendant was very helpful and kind. We were very pleasantly surprised by this hotel. Hotel was lovely, clean, good location but best of all was the customer service. The lovely lady at the front desk always remembered our names, made us feel like very special guests. When we asked, for example, for extra towels, she always asked what else we might need and offered several suggestions […] of items that she might also be able to provide us. Even the ladies who cleaned the rooms always greeted us warmly. Continental breakfast was included and the made- to-order waffles were a real treat! Shilo Inn is located conveniently on Main St., with a shuttle stop just around the corner to take you to the lifts or around town. Very large, clean rooms, with fridges. Nice jacuzzi. Decent complimentary breakfast, complete with waffles and yogurt. Very friendly and helpful staff and free underground parking.

Very nice establishment. 1st of all, I arrive very early (9am) and they told me that they already had a room ready for me. I wasn't really expecting a whole lot since the price was so good at the Shilo. It's definitely an old, dated hotel. However, the room was clean and the staff was friendly. Only issues that really stood out were: 1. Coffee maker did not work (small issue since there is free coffee downstairs with the continental breakfast), 2. We have travelled to Mammoth Lakes twice with our kids now (6 of us in all) and have stayed at the Shilo both times. We'll be back again next winter for our family trip. No extra charge for kids, no complaining that we have 6 people in one room, and they even accept dogs, which we weren't aware of until this trip. I was expceitng things to be a bit sketchy - they weren't! Teo things tho - if you need s sofa bed, stay soemwher else. WEhn we checked in, they knew the mattress was so bad they immedialtey offered a rollaway...which would have been fine except they have the same mattress -ugh. no sleep. To be able to say that the attention I was given by the personnel at the front desk was nothing but excellent !. My room was very nice and clean.Beds in very good condition as well as pillows, including blanket etc etc. Heating system was very good too.
