Not enough elevators for such a big hotel. The so-called renovated rooms look old to me. The cleaning ladies often did not replenish the toiletries. Service was poor and at times impolite. Still under construction! A real inconvience when trying to get a cab or load/unloading your luggage. Elevators are bad as only 1 goes down to the street level, the rest require you to take your stuff up or down a flight of stairs. The room was clean and the beds were comfy, but the hotel was torn apart for renovations. I knew this because I checked on line before I booked so I wasn't surprised. It did make it difficult to navigate the lobby though with all the people coming and going and construction. The a/c didn't seem to work well. I dunno what some people are arguing about. The hotel has it clearly stated on their website that they are undergoing a $14 billion renovations. And other than the lobby nothing is affected. I spent there one night and the people there were very friendly. Grt8 location, the room was very clean and relaxing. Renovations led to confusion over which elevators worked. Experience was a little quirky, but the rooms were clean and well decorated. Can't beat the location, and price reflected the (minimal) inconvenience of the renovations

The hotel was beautiful...the staff was pleasant & helpful..security was visible at ALL times..location was perfect for Broadway & Times Square...the room was modern & spotless. I am recommending this hotel to a friend's husband for a "birthday getaway"

The building was undergoing remodeling, so I was expecting a lot of chaos and poor rooms. I was pleasantly surprised with a very modern, clean, and comfortable, albeit small, room. The bed was very comfortable; I got back to my room around 1 and woke up at 6:30 feeling great. While the rooms in this hotel were perfectly lovely (and the beds were SUPER comfortable), it was virtually a war zone until you got into your room. The check-in process was inexplicably long and drawn out. The staff all seemed frazzled and not one person explains the bizarre elevator system to you: This involves pressing a panel in the hall that tells […] you which lettered elevator to wait for. Once you step inside your (hopefully correct) elevator with loads of other confused tourists, you hope and pray that the elevator takes you to your floor because there are no buttons on the inside--you're going wherever the elevator gods want to take you. More often than not, you end up in a lengthy game of "PLEASE Take Me to the 15th floor?! Oh, please! How 'bout now?" The hotel is under construction and is NOWHERE NEAR COMPLETION, which adds an aroma of paint, the sounds of drills, and a lot of roped off areas to the whole experience. But if you make it through the maze, to your correct floor, past the unfriendly roving security guards on every floor and into your room, you are golden. When I booked my room a week in advance I was never notified that the hotel was under construction. Due to it I felt like the employees were stressed and lost hospitality. The rooms are quite small but very clean and comfortable. Compaired to competitor prices, the Milford was a good deal.

I was very hesitant to book this hotel because of recent customer reviews but at the current NY hotel rates I decided to take a chance. Yes, there is some construction going on in sections of the lobby areas but its has NO negative affect on hotel. The areas that are being worked on are completely blocked off as well as covered. There was no inconvience […] to me or my family. We had a room on the 22nd floor and at no time during our 5-day stay were we bothered by noise. When we were arrived on 6/4 we received excellent service and had less than a 5 minute wait to check-in. The staff was friendly and our room although a bit small was very clean and cozy. My son and I visit NYC at least once every 2 years and this was a great vacation. I would say the only drawback to this hotel was the elevator service - at times we did have to wait 5-10 minutes for a elevator but other than that this is a very good hotel! You definitely cannot beat the location (46th/8th Ave) and their rates are great compared to other hotels in area. It took FOREVER for guests to check-in (there was a line almost out the door) and luggage was everywhere from where they were storing it in the lobby. I've stayed here several times. The updates to the rooms are excellent. They are doing the best they can with the mess in the lobby due to construction, but the staff does a great job getting everyone through checkout. Looking forward to going back when construction is complete.

I am a native New Yorker who checked in with my bf for a night away. What we got was a terrible combination of delayed elevators, smoke/fire alarm texting for several hours, security and one if our neighbors having a fight and door slamming. They should give us at least a free night. Home would have been less stressful by a long shot.
