Stayed at the Conrad istanbul for a couple nights in Dec 2012. Having stayed at the Conrad New York recently, one of the most beautiful hotels I have ever seen, I had high hopes. Instead, I got a hotel that was clearly past its prime. The location isn't great for sightseeing. The lobby is grand, but the rooms are are small and dated. The first non-smoking […] room reeked of smoke, so the did the second - the carpet, the bed, the pillows. The bathroom was dated as well, in need of a refurb. Power went out for 15 minutes one evening. Concierge service was spotty, failing to make a dinner reservation for us after confirming that they did. Upon checkout, we were mistakenly overbilled for some mini-bar items (which they removed). This hotel barely meets the standards of a mainline Hilton hotel, certainly not a top-of-line Conrad. For the money, the W is a better bet all around. 詳情

The only thing going for this hotel is the view and the pool. Internet costs are extortionist, staff not particularly helpful, building being renovated and overall a hotel that hasn't moved with the times. I wouldn't go back.

The Conrad Istanbul was certainly built on a grand scale, with a very nice lobby area. There is also a conference center attached to the hotel, so if you are going there for a conference or meeting, the hotel is a good choice. However, be prepared to use a taxi whenever you need to go anywhere. The nearest public transportation station - Kabatas - is […] about 2.1 KM away, so not convenient. Plus, there really is not much to do around the hotel (which is in the Besiktas area of Istanbul) in terms of walking around. On this trip, I also spent some time in another hotel in Old Town (Sultanahmet), and it was very nice to be able to step outside the hotel into a mostly pedestrian area of town and walk to major sights, restaurants, and public transportation. The hotel rooms were pretty old and looked somewhat worn out. They were also somewhat old fashioned. However, the service, for the most part, was excellent. Currently, the hotel is undergoing renovations, which was not mentioned when I booked the room through Expedia. No wonder they had a good sale on the rooms. I had a room that was on the fourth floor with no view. Furthermore, they were renovating rooms just on the other wing, so it was loud at times. From now onwards, whenever Expedia has a "special" sale, I will be checking to see if the hotel is being renovated. 詳情

Conrad Istanbul is one of the world wide Hilton hotels, I stayed there for 8 nights with my 2 children, we had great time in Istanbul in general and in The Conrad in particular, the hotel is neat and clean, the staff at the reception, room service, house keeping and resturants are very helpful and cooperative, I would particularly mention Miss Arzu […] in the concierge section who was extremely helpful and well informed about the attraction sites in this beautiful country. The room was very nice and large with a comfortable bed and a very nice restroom. The hotel workout facility was also very nice. The food at the hotel was expensive, and the service at the 14th floor restaurant for lunch was poor. The hotel is located in the New Town section on the European side of Istanbul (across the Golden Horn) and not convenient […] to many of the attractions in Istanbul Old Town. For Hilton, the Double Tree in Old Town is more centrally located for exploring those attractions. If you are going to the Asian side of Istanbul or taking a cruise from the port of Istanbul, the Conrad would be better as it is closer to the bridge and the port. There is a small park across from the Conrad for exercising too. There are some exceptional restaurants on the Straits within a short cab ride of the Conrad (10 Lira). we had a bosphorus view room, the view was great, wanted a room with a balcony but was told that all are taken, it was with windows which open though, but do not open fully. the street leading to the hotel has got mostly everything, shops, restaurants, cafe's, etc. Coming back to the hotel is recommended be done by car, walking is a little difficult, […] the hotel is on a hill. there are always taxis waiting in front of the hotel(dedicated for Conrad). The bathroom didnt have a hand shower, and looks old. the piping makes noise everytime you open the tub. breakfast was great with great variety. but would recommend that you dont take breakfast throughout your stay, and rather select when to have it at the hotel, because there are a lot of options outside. staff were friendly, responded quickly. I felt the rate of the room was a bit high, we were a couple with an infant, and with the baby's bed the room becomes small. overall it is a very good hotel, and would recommed it for others, and would consider going back in future. 詳情

I stayed at the Conrad because the rate they offered fairly was competitive compared to the hefty amounts what some hotels charge nowadays; yes, Istanbul has become an expensive place to stay. Do not expect the staff to go the extra mile for you, the service is decent and for most of them it seems to be just a job. It is certainly no Conrad. For instance, […] when going for lunch at 14:50, I was recommended to have the buffet by the waiter (easier, the service does not have to take an order and then bring the food...) but promptly informed that the lunch buffet closes at 3pm....and indeed they really had in mind to close it at 3pm sharp and not a minute later. I was reminded to hurry to take the main course when I had the starter in my hands, then when I had the main course plate in my hands I was told that it would also be a good idea to take a plate of desserts right now before the last corner of buffet disappears for good. There is timing for everything but to push people to eat is rude...in my book. Same pattern at the pool, on one day they had a banquet event in the evening and I was informed when I received my towel that I had 30 minutes, then upon arriving at the pool I was again crudely reminded by some young attendant who spoke virtually no English that indeed I had 20 minutes left. 10 minutes later they were diligently removing every possible piece of pool furniture and umbrella around me and the dozen guests who were left to make it clear that it really was time to move before they throw us out. However there was nobody there from F&B to reset the place for the event and no chairs nor tables were yet on site. If one considers the pool as an amenity for which you pay, then that amenity should be available to guests. The manner in which you inform people about something it what makes the difference.
