The hotel staff try to provide the same level of Kimpton experience, but despite their efforts the sorely outdated property makes that impossible. Location is good near Union Square, but you can stay somewhere nicer for the price. I won't stay here again.

This is an old city hotel that has been renovated very nicely by Kimpton. The location is fantastic for those looking to be in the middle of the city vibe. Great walking distance to anything. Nice hotel. The view from our room wasn't nice couldn't open curtains afraid room next to us would open theirs and see us from our room. They have no ice machine and water pressure in shower was horrible.

The hotel is in a great location and although nice, really doesn't meet up to te standards of other Kimpton Hotels I've stayed in before. The rooms were decent in size and clean but furniture seemed a little worn and old but nothing too much to complain about. The only thing I truly disliked was te bathrooms. They appeared old and in desperate need […] of renovation. The look of it seemed kind of dirty and the tub itself didn't look the nicest either. It was a jacuzzi tub but I definetlry wouldn't want to relax or sit in it at all. Much old peeling/chipped tile,etc. just didn't give the cleanest appearance. Otherwise great service and a good location for walking distance to all major things in San Fran. The coffee ad tea in AM and wine reception at night were nice unexpected touches! 詳情

The room was tiny, the bathroom looked nothing like the pictures, bed was very hard, duvet was very thin. They take dogs so one next door was barking all night, no coffee maker in room, ini fridge was broken. No room service after 10PM, parking was $44!! , expensive wi-fi. Staff is inattentive and careless (no help with luggage, poor valet service) […] We paid $267 for a "Club Level" room, which meant a lousy continental breakfast. We stayed at the Prescott one night before heading to Napa. The hotel is in a great location and the staff was very friendly and helpful. There's a complimentary wine hour before dinner and coffee in the morning--we enjoyed both in the cozy lobby area. This is our second stay in a year at this gem. Conveneientl;y located and very reasonably priced, has the amenities of hotels that cost much more in the area. Valet in-out parking is a bit expensive but there is a garage half a block away (left on Mason from Post) for only $24 a day total. Back to the hotel: quiet, comfortable. Free wine from 5 to 6. […] Very nice and friendly staff. The Wofgang Puck reaturant (Postrio?) is very good if you want to have dinner in. Booked this hotel through hotels.com, great deal, room was large, clean & comfortable with cute added extras, wine hour from 5-6pm & yoga mat in room, very helpful staff. Would stay again!

We had a wonderful time, everyone was super friendly and helpful. Great location, The Prescott shows a little wear and tear around the edges, but who doesn't! The chocolate chips cookies are a home run! Rooms are quiet, plenty big enough, window open, bed was comfortable and clean. We will be back.

Our son lives in SF so we travel there quite often. We love this hotel. San Francisco is a busy city, and we always feel that the moment we step into the Prescott Hotel the world seems to quiet down a bit. You can not beat the location, with ZIP cars available in the garage around the corner from the hotel. The 5PM wine reception is great! The perfect hotel for San Francisco. Perfect location about a block from union square. Very nice room, quiet and cozy though a bit small. Service was perfect and I would definitely stay there again.

Needed a place for the night after meeting freinds in the city, Last min. The Prescott was great! Clean, good location, service was friendly and very helpfull. Downside was Valet parking was 54.00 for the night, I should have asked and saved 25 bucks. Oh and my New car had a nice ding on the passenger door and not the kind you can rub out. PROS: Good location, CO Bigelow amenites, good water pressure, nice front desk staff. CONS: Uncomfortable mattress, bad lighting in room, no ventilation in bathroom so the steam would stay in there for hours.

this hotel is not a kimpton quality hotel, common areas have been updated, but rooms and bathrooms need a complete makeover to call it a kimpton!! plus they nickel an dime you for everything...absolutely no value for the $$$ spent! avoid this one unless nothing else available nearby!

Excellent! The club level wine reception and continental breakfast area was cozy but spacious and it was nice to mingle with other guests. Staff was helpful and friendly. Room was not very big but was clean and bright. Yoga mat and bathrobes in the closet was a nice touch. The valet was pricey for me but worth it to stay there.

While I personally love this location and this old, historic property, it really needs some TLC to bring it back to a 4 star quality. While the ground floor public space looks great the room levels need a lot of upgrading...it's just a little "tired". The service was excellent, we stayed in the "Club Level" and were less than impressed with the amenties […] provided (i.e. still had to pay for wireless service in the room!). My boyfriend and I came up to visit my cousin and attend a poetry reading he was doing. I reviewed several hotels. I had a good amount of money to spend so was very open. It came down to two things; cost of parking and wifi. Other hotels charged outrageous fees. And the parking was quite expensive. I didn't mind the vallet fees because they were reasonable […] and we had wifi. The room was smaller than I anticipated but none the less very clean and comfortable. The Prescott was amazing. From the fresh warm cookies to the King size bed, the hotel was fantastic. The location in Union Square was perfect. For a big city surprisingly quiet. Never stayed at a Kimpton Hotel; but you can be sure I will in the future. From start to finish they exceeded expectations. The restaurant was excellent, Postrio. We had a King […] Suite, less than 180 per night, which was plenty big and comfortable, and even the mini bar was reasonably priced. They just simply hit the mark on EVERYTHING. We shall return. The first night there we realized our AC wasn't working well, we managed through the night since it was pretty cool in SF anyways, the next day we called and they sent a technician over to our room, he explained that the AC wasn't working and that it would take some time to fix. Pulled up the curb, no bellman, took about 10 minutes for the not-so-busy valet to say a word. Front desk was good. Room was good, except that the weight room was located directly above (!!). Needless to say, we were woken up at 6 am by the sound of weights dropping and the rhythmic clunk clunk clunk of someone running on the treadmill. The hotel however has very thin walls and doors and very narrow hallways, so every time someone isin the hall talking at a normal tone you can hear them-- not good at late night times. The room was extremly cramped and almost no dress space or place to out our clothes. The staff was very pleasant and helpful but the decor needs remodeling. Everything is brown--not in a good way. The hallways are narrow and smell. The bathroom is adequate but small. Like all Kimpton hotels, the Prescott is an older building with modern decor and amenities. The location is great, just 2 block from Union Square.
