"Easy access to transportation--great room!"
This was a great place to stay. Easy to take the train from the airport and then walk four blocks to the hotel. The room was great--good size, great bed, nice TV and bathroom. Service was exemplary. "My favorite hotel ever"
I LOVE this hotel! My husband and I recently visited Philly on the end of an East coast vacation that started in Manhattan and ended in Philly. In Manhattan, we stayed at the Waldorf and I must say Latham is Better! That's right, better than the Waldorf and 1/3 the cost. We were pleasantly greeted by the staff upon arrival. The presence of a door man […] is a nice touch as well as the free car service, which we used once and absolutely loved. The driver was very friendly and full of info about the city. Our room was SO comfortable! I normally have difficulty sleeping away from home but the bed was so comfortable I slept great and the shower was incredible, perfect water pressure and temperature. The Keurig coffee maker in the room was a nice touch. We ordered room service for breakfast and it was delivered on time and the food was very well prepared. The hotel location is very nice as well. Very close to lots of high end shopping and walking distance to Rittenhouse Square. We really enjoyed walking to Rittenhouse Square and shopping the Farmer's Market on Sunday morning. really comfortable hotel with wonderful bedding and bath stuff. we used the town car service several times, a real perk. also, free bottled water and and a mini fridge. lobby people were courteous and friendly. "Awesome hotel... Just don't order chocolate cake!!"
Great location, great valet service... It was an awesome stay! My only complaint is the $14.00 cupcake/brownie that's very misleading at Latham. It clearly states its a Chocolate Cake under the description but merely its a very small brownie of sorts. In closing ... "Worst Hotel Stay Ever"
I arrived at the hotel at 3:30 in the afternoon ready to check in and they told me that due to the number of late checkouts that they hotel had they would not have a room ready for me for a bit. I had to wait 2 1/2 hours in their lobby with my all of my bags for them to clean my room for me. I was third in line at 3:30 for my room. How it takes 2 1/2 […] hours to clean three rooms is beyond me. When I asked to speak to a manager they said that the manager was not there. This was over memorial day weekend- a notoriously busy travel weekend. The next day our room was never made up- even after calling down twice to have it done. And the topper on the cake is that they double charged me for drinks that I had at the bar one night. I paid at the bar and then on checkout it was on my bill- which they said was not a duplicate charge. According to my visa bill it was. Awful service- no organization. "Tried something different"
I usually stay at different hotel when I travel to Philadelphia but I got an great deal with the Latham. The room was small(I think my college dorm was bigger!) but very clean and comfortable. One complaint is about the Keurig coffee machine. For some unknown reason it was placed inside the dresser. It took quite a bit of effort to move it on top since […] I had to move heavy furniture, unplug the cord,etc. The location is nice and I enjoyed the complimentary breakfast. My wife and I liked the room very much. We also liked the restaurant. The food was excellent. There were a few drawbacks. The small size of the elevators caused problems during periods of high traffic in the hotel. Our room was a bit small. There were no glasses or cups, although the hotel supplied cups on request. A lovely w-day stay. The neighborhood can't be beat, and my wife and I found the hotel to be very comfortable and perfectly pleasant.
