Cannot rate this hotel as excellent , since the mattresses require replacement. Preference seems to be given to time-share clients. We were not impressed to be sharing a double room and find shortages of towels,, bath products. Drinking water was charged per bottle. morning coffe in the room was also for a fee. View from the balcony was amazing! Staff […] were pleasant and friendly. The Manager of the breakfst lounge was very professional, as were her staff. Me and my wife are very frequent travelers and visited many countries and hotels. Also this is the first time writing a review. I have never in my life seen a dirtier hotel. It looked good on pictures. However it is far from what you will see in reality. I canceled it as soon as walked inside. Didn't even check in. Avoid at all cost.

This is just a matter of bad organisation and not a reflection of the hotel itself. I arrived to learn that I had been upgraded (yay) and to do so I had to go to the top floor of the main tower I was at to check in. So I arrive and am told after checking in that this is where I get to have CONTINENTAL BREAKFAST but I have to go back down and walk to […] yet another tower, past where I originally was and that was where my room was and to have breakfast I would have to come back to the main tower. Great hotel, location on beach, proximity to restaurants... The only thing missing was a slide into the pool for kids (or allowing them to jump in the water) and boogie boards.

We asked for an upgrade as soon as we got there as it had been noted when reservations were made. When we arrived they said they were booked and to ck bk tomorrow. We NEVER got it. They stuck us in the C tower (old building). The bed was as hard as a rock. The sheets had hairs on them YUCK! The toilet kept getting stopped up. The shower dripped ALOT […] of water. The mirror was scratched and old. There were lots of old rusty cracks throughout the room. The "balcony" is tiny!!! Its literally big enough for one foot per person!! VERY dissapointing! We had NO mini bar..It was totally empty. The room they gave us was not ready (still dirty) so they moved us to a differant one. Very unprofessional. The drinks were ok. There are ONLY 2 bar tenders at the Sushi bar (main bar in lobby). We had to wave them down but they kept ignoring us. Way under staffed!! They DO NOT wash their cups. To entertainment and nice beach spot, food was just ok and the timeshare will take 2.5 hours not 1.5 and once they got u they will try very hard to get you to do it. But I still Passed and got almost a $100 worth of useful gifts

This hotel would be great for young spring breakers. Area surrounding the hotel was very loud in the evening through early morning 10p-5a due to several nights club within walking distance. The hotel is simple, has what you need. We were in Tower B and told that this was the recently renovated building. The bathroom did look renovated except for the mirror, which had huge spots on it - like they forgot to change it once they finished. The lighting was not great in the bathroom (for makeup) and there were no mirrors in the actual room - […] but this was the case at the next hotel I stayed in at Playa del Carmen too, so maybe thats a Mexico thing. The shower was hot, water pressure was great, we had a problem with the AC and someone was up in 20 minutes to fix it (and did fix it). You get a discount at the breakfast buffet by the beach - $20 total for me and my boyfriend. The weekend we went the beach chairs were not swarmed and we were able to get beach chairs with an umbrella at 11am. We did not do the AI package, and I would not recommend it - there are great places to eat and drink for cheap within blocks in literally every direction. We paid about $180/night but would not pay more than $150 a night to stay here again. 詳情

Very friendly and updated (we had a club romantic ocean front room) hotel. It is small with only 2 restaurants but food was delish. It is also close to the action with easy access to the bus. Which brings me to the only fault I would give this hotel....it can be noisy. I have been to 7 Mexico trips and this is the worst!!!! I was reay to fly home on 2nd day. Moved three different Roos in 4 nights and yesterday in our new room, maintenance in our room before we even got in room, leak from our bathroom to lower level, air conditioner did not work as well as cable. I won't be back,,,,,

The only good thing about this hotel is the look on the pictures, in reality its a dirty place with a bad smell and cheap design/decoration. No entertainment except the beach. Food is OK but not a whole lot options to choose from. We paid for the best room however we stayed there one night and then had to cancel the hotel and moved to another one.

Great location, decent rooms for a 3 star hotel... watch out for the constant timeshare/excursion sharks... it gets plain annoying after a while... and they all lie about their intentions when they first approach you. We booked ocean view with the European plan, that included the continental breakfast at the Krystal Club.. great choice... nice breakfast […] everyday with milk, cereal, toast, cheese, fresh fruit, juice, coffee, cold cuts, pastries etc.. plus, includes the appetizers and wine at night. Our friends got the all inclusive and were greatly disappointed with the food, took 2 hours for getting sandwiches delivered by the pool, plus the drinks at the bar are watered down... I read about it on reviews and its absolutely true... My first and last drink was at the bar next to the spa, where the big menu sign for "Sex on the Beach" listed 6-7 different ingredients.. the bartender mixed juice, coconut cream and some Smirnoff and handed it over to me for 81 pesos ($7).. that was the last time I ordered a drink from any of the bars. 詳情

When I arrived I had requested 2 dbl beds, close to the elevator because my husband is handicapped. Make reservations in August 2012. I called and confirmed requests and told I would have them. Did not get them. The food was good, but the beef dishes had the toughest meat ever eaten. I think it is insulting to put out that quality of food to anyone. […] Tough meat is not good. I enjoyed the hammocks they have, and the time at the beach. The music band they had was excessively loud with terrible acoustics given the low ceiling and all the glass windows around....I ran away from the lobby! There is not a la carte dinner menu...I say this hotel is more suited for a family stay

they are more focused about selling tours and making you a hotel member than anything else, once you say no to those things it is like you disappear. The doors are not isolated so you can hear everything outside, and they start cleaning very early in the morning. Other than that the hotel was OK, the beach was nice and the pools were OK too.

Location and outside pool area are exceptional but the rooms are way below par. Rooms need complete overhaul. We stayed as timeshare guests for a week and then an 8th night in hotel room and they made us check out at 10:00am and wait till 4:00pm to place our luggage back in a room. Unless you are staying with all inclusive option they stick you with […] the inside partial ocean view across from the loud Fiesta Americana air-conditioning units. We have been staying at the Krystal for 10 plus years. The property has the best beach in the hotel zone. The price is reasonable, Patricia Mendoza in the Krystal Cub is incredible! What more can we say? Go, relax and enjoy the beauty of the Krystal and Cancun!

Lock on sliding glass door to balcony was non existent and looked as if it had been removed with a crow bar. Glass balcony railing were horribly stained and crusty. The bed was as hard as plywood and all pillows were like laying you head on a football. Looking to install one just like it at my home. We went all inclusive and drinks were VERY weak and the ice would melt in less than 5 minutes and the drink would be hot. We ate at Chili's down the street and the drinks were stiff and ice cold until consumed. It almost seemed as if the ice at the Krystal was mostly air??? melting extremely fast. Also no sodas were refrigerated and were 90 degrees when poured over the ice, making the soda room temperature almost immediately. Room service was very good and if I had to go back again I would order every meal through room service. Steaks were very tasty and always cooked to order. Chicago burger was excellent at the pool, we had it every day. Food and service at the mexican resturaunt were also excellent. There is no ice available in the rooms or the hall ways. You have to call room service to get some ice and that takes 30 minutes. They have coffee brew systems in the rooms, but offer no coffee, sugar, creamer, coffee stir sticks or even cups????? 詳情

Nice hotel but felt "labelled" by the wrist band. This is the way they can tell if you are part of the all inclusive package or one of the "other" guests. That kind of labelling does not feel high class. Feels more like a frat party. Also, they will try to trap you into listening to a speil on their condos, tours, and stuff. I was warned about this […] ahead of time, so we were able to rush past people in the lobby and avoid too much confrontation. But this too, does not contribute to a pleasant experience. My air-conditioning failed after 4hours, it took them 8 hours to finally send a repairman after threatening to call their corporate office, and even then they told me I would be charged for the call, really, their customer service number. I choose Krystal simply because it was close to the Cancun nightlife and shopping/food etc. Hotel itself is very decent for what you pay. Rooms were spacious and clean. Bathroom was not super brand new but was again more than plenty for what we needed it for. Hotel has a few restaurants that are buffet style. Choices are limited and the food is not […] bad but also nothing fancy! This hotel also has a massive pool that covers the entire back end and as soon as you step of the hotel property you step on to the beach. Within a five minute walk on the beach you will find music, beach bar, back entrance to a small shopping center (with a pharmacy, small food court, chilli's/hard rock café etc/ few other souvenir stores etc. Also within a two minute (literally) you will come across your first night club (Bull Dog) and many others on that stretch of the main road. Location of this hotel is incredible and the beach is also amazing similar to any other fancy hotel beach you would stay at on the east end of the hotel zone. I personally would not get the “All Inclusive” package because there are a lot of other choices (much cheaper) with a few minute walk plus hotel food isn’t worth an extra $100 +/ night. If you decide to eat there any way, buffet is about $20 US per person. 詳情

Since I never traveled outside of the country I did not know what to expect. This vacation was to celebrate my best friends 22nd birthday and the hotel was completely amazing! When we walked in the door we were greeted with welcome drinks and immediately taken care of from that point onward. If you plan on staying at this resort, I highly recommend […] getting the all inclusive package. We got room service, unlimited drinks, food, and hospitality. The servers and workers throughout the hotel were the best I've ever experienced. When you think open free bar, you expect the workers and bartenders to be stingy with the alcohol but it was the complete opposite! On more than one occasion I received multiple strong drinks without even asking. Also with this package you get the option to eat out at about 6 other restaurants in the area for free. I highly recommend el mortero which is right outside and Sr. Frogs that's right down the street. Don't go to Sr. Frogs unless you are willing to drink because they don't take no for an answer! I loved everything about this hotel, its workers, and the paradise it was set in. You don't receive this hospitality, genuine caring, and service in any hotel in the US. When we saw some of favorite employees on the last day they begged us not to leave and treated us like family!! Ill definitely miss all of the friends I made at the krystal cancun resort!! 詳情
