The inside of the hotel was nice and clean, but the walls were really thin so you can hear the conversation of the guests next door. The parking prices were ridiculously expensive but the location was close to everything which was great.

If you're reading reviews you're probably trying to find the best deal you can because San Francisco is expensive, unnecessarily expensive. You want to stay by Fisherman's Wharf but refuse to pay $200 or more per night, and you don't want to stay 20-30 minutes away near SFO . Well, you don't have to. If you have money to burn you should stop researching […] and just get a $500 per night hotel to suit your picky needs, and surely even then you'll find something to critique. Otherwise, this hotel is just fine. Aside from hotel stuff like room service, valet (parking everywhere in SF is unreasonable - it's a tourist trap!). The best thing about this hotel is the location. Buses run both ways on Van Ness and can take you to Market Street where you can transfer to go to The Embarcadero in one direction, and Haight-Ashbury in the other. The California Street cable car ends directly behind the hotel, and you can jump on that and transfer to one of the two others; Powell/Hyde takes you to Fisherman's Wharf, and Powell/Mason takes you to North Beach through a great Little Italy section where great restaurants and shops abound! A transfer to a bus here can take you to the Golden Gate Bridge. If you do SF right, you'll take public transportation everywhere. You can buy a 3-day pass at the gift shop downstairs for $22, and use all of them to go everywhere. If you consider that one ride on a street car is $6, this pass pays for itself in less than a day! Cons: This is an aging hotel that is over priced for what you get. The rooms and hallways all smell musty. The rooms are somewhat cramped and also stuffy because the temperature is hard to control with the thermostat. The parking is outrageously expensive. Due to the old age of this hotel, it needs to be upgraded or rebuilt. I was disappointed in the use of the toliet - the bowl is too shallow and it caused the extreme "splashings" of the water to my bottoms during my heavy b.m.. The AC/ Heater was very loud. The location is not right at the center, but close to the bus station. The bathroom is ok. Disappointed about the view from the room. Room is small. We travelled with a baby, so with the crib in the room, it was packed.

Overall I really liked the hotel .What i didn't like about the hotel was the parking fee,almost $45 a day just away too expensive for me. The options were to park in a parking structure near by for $20 a night, the only problem there was no " in and out privileges", once you park there you have to leave the car there 24 hours or pay the hourly rates […] of $5, which was a bit expensive too.Another option was to find a parking spot on the street that allowed more than 2 hours parking. The bathroom tub could use some deep cleaning or remodeling , it had some mildew spots and some dark marks on it. Everything else was very clean. I found a pair of shoes under the bed, it makes me think that they never vacuum under the bed . Overall it is a good hotel, the location is very busy but it didn't bother me. There is a Whole food store near by it , a very good option for breakfast and lunch or anything else you may need from a supermarket. There are plenty of restaurants near the hotel, no need to drive anywhere else for food. I like the fact that a card is needed to take the elevator, it makes the place more safe in my opinion. Could tell this was once a very nice hotel. The facilities were fine but it needs a bit of work done on it. The bed was a little uncomfortable and the bath plug didn't work properly. Minor things which caused a little annoyance.

I was given a supurb room with a terrific view. I never expect that, when I book through an on-line service. The hotel is very well run and the staff is extremely helpful. I am a native San Franciscan so I would probably have stayed in adifferent location if I was wanting to be near Union Square.

This hotel was very convenient for my trip. It was off city hwy 101, about a 7-8 minute cab ride to the financial district. We enjoyed our stay her, staff was helpful. And accomodated us very superbly. I was dissatisfied with the cab service, my family member was denied a cab ride four times, saying her wheelchair wouldn't fit, some cabs had a trunk […] and was van. Her wheelchair can fold in half and has detachable wheels. It was said that it was against the law to deny a ride, no matter the circumstance. My family member missed an important event. 詳情

this hotel was great. it has great views of the city. Great location, close to everything, on the corner of the hotel you can catch the cable car to take you to any touristy location. The beds were comfortable and the bathrooms were good. Best thing: Free Wifi :)

Hotel accepted a booking for five people ( 2 x adults, 3 x children over age of 9 )in a 2 x double bed room. Obviously expected us all to sleep in 2 x double beds? Hotel made rollaway bed available. My girlfriend and I stayed here for a special night. We enjoyed our stay. The only complaint is the 40$ parking. Then again, most hotels or inns will have expensive parking in the city. Overall, what a great stay.
