The room was good. The bathroom was good. The closet and storage space was excellent. The hotel is absolutely beautiful. The gardens especially....lovely. I had only 2 issues: The food at Omar's cafe and the Garden Cafe and room service is the same, just different names of each item. Same exact salads, same burgers, same sandwiches. Each is called […] something different depending on which outlet you use. The health club is good. The sauna, steam, jacuzzi and heated pool are great. Only complaint...the locker room and wet areas are in need of renovation. No mold, but certainly the grout and wall and floor tiles need to be replaced. This honestly was the best hotel I've stayed throughout all of my travels! We were greeted right when we stepped foot out of our taxi by the bell boy that took our bags into the reception area. There was also a metal detector staffed w/security at the main entrance so I thought that was a plus for safety. We checked in with ease and they brought our […] bags up to our room. Really nice room and omg, the beds were sooo comfortable! That same day we rode on horses into the pyramids and we passed out ASAP. I had just about the best sleep in my life on that bed! We had breakfast at the buffet downstairs (bout $20 extra, not included in the room cost) which has much variety to it so we were like oh heck, we'll pay the extra for breakfast. They have their own casino too (which we didn't play at but I thought it was a cool additional facility to the hotel). It was about 15-20 mins from the main touristy sites so that wasn't too bad. Overall, I'd definitely recommend this hotel! The staff was very nice and helpful with anything we needed and the hotel was just beautiful inside and out. 詳情

Must see this historic old palace converted to a hotel. It is one of the best in Cairo - very impressive. Service and staff were attentive and responsive. The rooms are well appointed and well maintained. Food in the many different restaurants was outstanding. Certainly a five star if not higher.

Fabulous heated swimming pool even in the middle of their winter (January)! Impeccable service from all hotel staff, though hotel prices for food and drink are getting pretty European (e.g. local beer Egy£35 = GB£3.75 - the same as London!)! Completely ridiculous that the Marriott still charging huge amounts (by any standards let alone relatively cheap […] (for tourists) Egypt) for internet connection - approx GB£10/US$15 per day!!! In this day and age good, free wifi is becoming a major influence in people's choice and expected of 5 star hotels. As a regular visitor to Cairo it's very sad to see the city and its great hotels empty of tourists (we walked straight into the Egypt Museum - previously one queued for up to 2 hours!).The Pyramids only had Egyptian visitors the day we went! We felt very safe there - we arrived there on 25 January, the anniversary of the recent uprising and even visited Tahrir Square the next day. BMI flight to Cairo was their usual impeccable service and on time as always (it will be a shame to see BMI ruined by the impending takeover by British Airways!). Egyptair still a little chaotic on the return flight, though much improved from before and a brand new 777-300ER for those plane-spotters (I have been flying this route for over 10 years!). Cairo Marriott Hotel and Omar Khayyam Casino, is a really good choice if you are spending time in Cairo. Too expensive, but the staff is really nice, helpful and welcoming - both in the reception, housekeeping, restaurants and the rest. Good security also. Nice location in Zamalek!

This hotel was very nice and lived up to my expectations. It's location in central Cairo made getting to different places of interest very easy and was one of the main reasons I chose this hotel. The traffic between this hotel and the airport can be very bad so plan ahead. The room was very neat and tidy, smoke free and I enjoyed the view of the nile […] from the balcony. Only complaint I might have is with the mattress which was a little harder than I personally like as I am use to a super soft bed. As a result it would have been nice if the shower had a little more water pressure with a message feature. Otherwise, I had no maintenance issues with the room while here. The staff was very helpful and made every effort to assist me when I made a request.... and left me alone when I did not need any help. The hotel breakfast was nice with eggs to order or fresh fruit available. The hotel had some different restaurants but for me the English Pub was an added plus with light snack or evening meal on offer. The hotel also has a wide choice of gift shops, book store, clothes, etc.. which is nice if you forgot something or do not have a lot of time to shop for souvenirs. Beautiful old palace and gardens are the central amenities and well worth experiencing. Bedrooms in tower blocks are comfortable , but unremarkable for the price - saving feature is great view of Nile if you can persuade the somewhat arrogant reception to put you on higher floors facing the right way !

This is a really good hotel in easy walk of the Nile - you can walk to Tahrir in 20 minutes. The rooms are comfortable and the service excellent. One tip take a USB port lan if you want to use the internet in your room.

I stayed here and at the sofitel el gezirah. El gezirah is more modern and up to date. But marriott has charm and is interesting to explore. I liked the sunken pool area. Food was good. Not a particularly interesting area of Cairo, but does have a good bookstore that sells books written in english nearby.

We paid $extra per day extra for two of us to have breakfast, dinner, three pieces of clothing presed and access to the 18th floor exec loung with free all day soft drinks. The problem was that the check-in girl did not tell us we woul have to eat in the exec loung so when it came to check out they expected […] us to pay for all the meals we had had. The Marriott is well positioned in Zamalek and facilities look good on paper. However, many of the restaurants were closed and the one we tried got our order wrong and didn't care when we pointed out their mistake. Prices for food and drink are far too expensive for quality and service provided. There is an excellent restaurant outside called Abou El […] Sid, 2 minutes to the northen side ... find it and go every night ! The Bakery for breakfast was friendly and reasonable. As summer doesn't start until April and we were there mid-March, the pool wasn't clean and the bar / cafe not open. Fortunately the pyramids, museum and Alexandria were excellent and with hardly any tourists around our trip was great. The local Egyptians are friendly and NEED our tourism, please go and enjoy. We used a local tour company called Wedjat Tours. they met us at the airport, provided minibus and guide for Alexandria and pyramids and took us back to airport after a 2 day break. It was a great stay but the ride from the Airport to the Hotel was super bad. Rather use the Limo Service then taking a Taxi. The bed in the room was not of the best. It was old. It had holes on the left and the right but still comfortable.

Hotel check in: allowed early check in which was very good. check out: system was down but only 10mins wait before up and running again. security is good as vehicles and bags and people are all scanned/dogged sniffed when entering hotel premises. room was clean and tidy. no extractor in bathroom toilets, so beware what you eat. the health club was […] open 24hrs although didn't manage to make use of it because we only spent two days in cairo and most of it was for tours. for the price you pay, internet is not included. buying internet card from the hotel is very expensive! was cheaper to use roaming rate on my iphone. otherwise if you have wireless enabled laptops phones, head to the station nearby and buy mobinil wireless cards for LE5 for 30mins. they have other cards and a small fraction of hotel price. you can use the card at segafredo resto near the hotel. the restos were a bit expensive in my view, so we headed outside for a nice resto (illy and segafredo coffee resellers?) for lunch and still cheaper than hotel. the location is not great as there isnt much around there if you want to go for a walk. there is the nile river bank but you get this on the east bank also. better off staying on the east bank somewhere closer to bazaar or museum where there are loads of shops restos etc. The hotel had belly dancing shows from the famous soraya dancer. however for me the show was a bit overpriced and she did not look like in the pictures (she looked much older). there was a minimum charge per person being applied. the good news is you can spend that minimum charge on dinner and drinks. remember, you can enjoy a nice dinner in a very nice resto in Cairo city for AROUND LE100-150 total for 2 persons. loads of taxis waiting outside trying to overcharge tourists. bear in mind that from hotel to museum should be AROUND LE10 per taxi during the day (5-8mins away)! 詳情

The hotel was booked so they upgraded me to about a 2,000 square foot, 9 room Presidential Suite. The rooms included two large living rooms, library, private office, dining room, kitchen, master bedroom and bath with juccuzi tub, three large screen T.V.s throughout, four private balconies on the 17th floor overlooking the Nile River, etc.

This is a fantastic hotel in Cairo. The main building is beautiful and are room was incredibly comfortable and up to Western standards. We used the pool area everyday which is small for a hotel of that size but adequate for lounging around. Food in the hotel is incredibly expensive. There are a number of restaurants a short walk away including Maison […] Thomas for delish pizza and Abu El Sid for excellent Egyptian (we went twice to both places). Taxis are cheaper just by walking to the end of the hotel driveway - so avoid the overpriced hotel transport. All is all, a great stay and would recommend to anyone heading to Cairo. i unfortunately picked up gastroenteritis (sp?), but there was a hotel doctor on-site who hooked up the iv, gave me some drugs, and helped me get better ... protip: get the 24-hour wireless card instead of the other options, much better value
