  It is at the heart of the city centre. There is a tram stop right in front of the hotel and within 20 minutes of walk, you can reach quite a lot of attractions in Amsterdam. To get to the hotel, you can take no. 4 or 9 tram from the Amsterdam Centraal train station. It just takes around 5 minutes.

  Far away the central station, need to walk 15-20 mins from the central station or take the tram. Good wifi and breakfast provided. Staff are nice. Room is too small, double room cannot put open two luggages together.

  - Hotel staff service is nice and helpful. - The view from my room is another part of hotel building view. - Traffic is just opposit tram station, from airport to hotel around 20 mins. - Shopping area need to walk around 40 to 60 mins. - To casino need to walk around 35 mins. - You can also take tram to the above area, need to spend minimum €2.8 for one hour tram ticket. - If you decide to walk by foot from central station to hotel after 6pm, I suggest not to do that, it really cold by walk, take tram is much faster and easlier.

  I have spent four nights in the Executive room in the Movenpick Hotel Amsterdam City Centre. First of all, it is worth to note that the hotel was not exactly located in the "City Centre", if walking by foot, it will take at least 15mins before you can reach the entrance of the Central Station. Although the hotel has provided the so called complimentary shuttle bus service to and from the Central Station. Unfortunately that is not a shuttle bus, but only a terribly worn out Ford Van with only 8 seats, in order to get those precious seats from the shuttle van that departs every 30 mins, you will need to make a reservation in advance. For my experience, I could not get a seat for multiple times during my 4 nights staying with the hotel, I was ended up walking to and from the station all by myself facing the freezing cold wind from the shore. The service was definitely not up to standard as well, the staff simply told me that the shuttle is full while no alternative was given. I hope they would understand that I was not there to claim a free prize from their pockets, I expect they can do their job in a better attitude. For something positive, the view from the room was perfect, overlooking the river view and the entire Amsterdam city.

  Close to train station is the good point because I travel to see wind mills. Even it is a deluxe room, room size is too small if you have 2 big luggage. In view of the price, this hotel is good overall.
